Premier Pro is Locking Up Again

I have Premier Pro, version 25.0.0 (Build 61).  I use an Asus VivoBook with Windows 11.

I have the GPU accelerator turned OFF because I don't have a dedicated graphics card (I'm a hobbiest on YouTube and Rumble, so my videos are shot and not terribly complex).

Ever since the last update, Premier Pro keeps locking up every time I either:

1) Import a new video clip

2) Clip out part of existing video clip, and then slide the two remaining clips together

3) Clip out part of an existing video clip and insert a photo in that space

I'm having to shut down are restart nearly EVERY TIME I make a change now.  What's up and how do I fix it?

Hi @sparks1524 - We need a few more details to try to help with the issue. Please see, How do I write a bug report?

There have been some imporovements with "GPU Accelerator UI Rendering" in beta if you have it off.  It is recommended to keep this setting enabled.

Have you tried the current latest version 25.1?

Which VivoBook do you have?

Morning!

I'm *not* getting a crash dialogue box.  The audio still works and plays, but the video freezes.  Sometimes (and not in a pattern I can discern), the audio will also eventually freeze, but not every time.

The GPU Accelerator I turn off is in the "Sequence Setting" when I create a new project.  I check "Maximum Bit Depth" and "Maximum Render Quality," but make sure the "Composite in Linear Color (requires GPU accelerator...)" is turned off.

I've also got the GPU accelerator disabled in the "General" section of Preferences (the "GPU Accelerator UI Rendering").

This happened to me back in 2022, and that's when I learned to ensure BOTH of those GPU accelerator options were disabled.  After that, no problem until this new build came out in December.

Thanks!

Have you tried Premiere Pro version 25.1?

When you say lockup does that mean it freezes or are you getting a crash report dialog box?

Can you let us know which GPU acclerator setting you are turning off?

Sorry for the frustration.
