Premiere 26.0.2 Markers disappearing from Multicam clips

When I add a marker into a Multicam clip, it disappears after one second. I’ve tried switching the “Write clip markers to XMP” in settings on and off, usually the markers then work for few minutes, but then problem comes back. I’ve updated Premiere, cleared cache, started a new production and copied material to new projects.

I’ve used this method in previous versions without a problem.

    • Issue – Markers disappearing from Multicam clips
    • Steps to reproduce – 1. Create a Multicam sync sequence with one video and two zoom audio clips 2. transcribe audio clips and create subtitles into Multicam sequence 3. Add marker to the clip, name it and add comment 4. Extend marker 5. Hit ok, wait one second and  the extended marker disappears.
    • Expected result – Extended marker should stay in the clip marking a certain segment of the clip
    • Actual result – Marker disappears
    • Screen recording – attached
    • Adobe Premiere Pro version – it started when working with 26.0.0 and continued after updating 26.0.2
    • Operating system – macOS Tahoe 26.3 (25D125)
    • Video format – Proxies (Half res) made with create proxy - tool
    • Comparative information helps us understand more about when the issue occurs:
      • Current project, which is in a production
      • It worked fine before, then something changed (didn’t do anything else than edit and import new material as done before)
      • While working as usual. I’m of course suspecting it has something to do with corrupt project files. I’ve tried to fix it by switching the “Write clip markers to XMP” in settings on and off, usually the markers then work for few minutes, but then problem comes back. I’ve updated Premiere, cleared cache, started a new production and copied material to new projects.

Hi @Matti Naranen - Does this happen if you make a new project and import the multicam into it?  Are you saying at one point you had the Write clip markers to XMP checkbox enabled?

@jamieclarke Yes, I tried creating new project and copying the clips there. I’ve tried to toggle Write clip markers to XMP on and off, it doesn’t seem to have any kind of response at the moment.

Here is a link to demonstrate what happens, apparently the attachment didn't come through: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/i49otsjbcvt0c9wanl5l3/Disappearing-markers.mp4?rlkey=cxljgs6pugzitze5kmnler1h6&dl=0

I’m suspecting that there must be corrupt file somewhere, because it did work earlier in version 26.0.0 and suddenly this started. But don’t know where or how to correct - as said in previous message tried already new production, new project, clearing cache.
