After updating to PP 22, dynamic link with AE is not working. I've tried going to documents and putting OLD after dynamic link folder, but this did nothing.

This is so disappointing and am actually installing beta versions to finish a project.

Correct answer andz

Just an update on our side with regard on this dynamic link problem.

As of now with the latest update PP 22.11 AE 22.11 ME 22.11 , the dynamic link is working properly.

I hope also the lumetri will be fix soon.

Ill update here soon if something wrong comes up.

Add one more to the pile. My AEP files in Premiere Pro continue to say "Pending" while relinking locks up the entire program. This is completely unacceptable. I shouldn't have updated until months had passed, since apparently all of us professionals who depend on these apps to work are the test pilots. This is embarrassing, Adobe. DO BETTER.

Had the same experience.
I noticed that it happens only the second time you open premiere - this is because one After Effects process is not closing probably. So if you close it using the task manager and then open premiere it loads up the dynamic links.

However, even when loading the dynamic links, it crushed on render... So I installed the former versions of After effects, Premiere, and the Encoder, hacked my Premiere file so it could open in the older version, and then it worked. But wow - I'll never update immedietly...

Hey Mate, how did you hack the file to open in an older version? Ive done a heap of work in Premiere 2022 and need to role back. Cheers

I'm having the same issue, but found a way to at least open premiere 2022 and have my multiple separate AE comps load.

I checked the activity monitor (mac) and noticed that the 'aerendercore' or whatever it's called was always red/frozen in the list of processes.  Premiere and AE would still open and close as normal, but that single instance that was frozen seemed to be causing issues with relinking comps.  After forcing that to quit I opened Premiere and everything relinked.

I haven't thoroughly tested editing my AE comps yet, but for now I can at least get the other pieces of the edit done and have a way to relink comps quickly to preview my edits.

SAME ISSUE

I have to remove the ae file from the project, that is after I have to force quit pp.

then try several times to remove the file and add it back. I learned to quit pp after i delete the unlinked one and then restart it to add it back.

This works while pp is running, when i shut down for the evening and start up in the morning, I have to take 30 minutes or more to reconnect it again by force quitting and the steps above.

so going back to an older version of the app and the project file means redoing all the work that went on after the update.

no more updates to adobe software.  if there was something else other than adobe sign that we use exstensivly, 20 of us using adobe cc in the company would be using other software.

Did you reinstall AE, PP and ME? I did the full sweep of uninstall / reinstall previous versions and it's working for me now. Maybe give the whole thing a restart too?

Clean-Install means delete all Adobe applications safely and restart the computer. This is the safest way. Reinstalling only individual components did not work, at least for us.

I'm also experiencing the same problem over and over again. Premiere says that my dynamic links are "Pending" and they never seem to load. If I try to relink them, Premiere stalls and I need to force quit.

Same problem here.  AEP linked media OFFLINE in Premiere 2022 Timeline.

This is a major disaster.  Media won't relink.  Premiere freezes.

Garbage platform. Worth the time to learn Davinci over the holidays and say goodbye to Adobe for good.

DaVinci works like a Swiss watch knife. Everything is fast and without lags. It's not advertising, I don't get paid. I want to understand why Adobe can't do this??? why why why, I don't understand. Make it productive, lightweight and stable like a Swiss watch.
We are waiting for updates in the near future to make it clear that they will hear us and solve these stupid problems that prevent creators from creating content.

I had the same problem yesterday/this morning. I had to uninstall the new version and went with the last version. Will not be downloading anything new for a while. Messed up many hours of work. Don't do the new update! Terrible!

on the contrary, updates are always needed. Otherwise, we will get bogged down in the age of mammoths and will see what other NLEs have done at the highest level for a long time.

Agree progress is needed, but also a stable performance is a must. I've been using premiere since 2001, began with version 4.2 from 1996, and have used all versions until today. Always was a disastrous buggy app until the arrive of CS 5.5 that was rock solid, also version CS6 and first couple of versions of CC, after that it went backwards to instability again. My biggest complaint was the laggy H264 playback, even on the best hardware available in the universe. For worst last couple of versions introduced laggy playback in proress.

If I export a project in XML to the competition app, it plays smooth as silk at full 4k even after color graded. So is not the computer, it is a software issue. I really like working environment of premiere, maybe because all these years I’ve developed muscle memory. But every new version it is getting worse. The only thing that keeps me using premier is the dynamic link with after effects, and now is broken.

Back in the days, I used to report bugs by email and feature requests on adobe forums. ¡It took them 7 years to fix the captions bugs!

On the contrary in my experience with the competition forums, bugs and features I asked for were delivered on the next update after my request. So, the company attitude also play a role.

Disclaimer, I’m not any company’s fan boy, I’m just an objective user that need the software to perform well, so I can focus on my work.

Same problem here.
I was working in a project on Pr linked to Ae with the previous versions while the 2022 applications were downloading. Then I reopen the project in the new versions and stop working when I was trying to export it.

Hi,

I've updated to Pr/Ae 2022 and when I open a Pr project the dynamicly linked Ae compsitions don't load and completely jams up the application. I found a post that was a similar problem with an older version and it said to rename the dynamiclink folder to "dynamiclink_old". That only works the first time I open Premiere after restart. If I close and reopen, doesn't work anymore.

Adobe, Y'all need to perfect dynamic link, if fails way too much, especially with newly updated versions. It's so powerful and flexiable when it actually works.
