Question

Premiere pro 2023 doesn't read HEVC files

I can read those files on PP2022, and a friend can read the same file on the new PP2023, but I can't.
I downloaded HEVC reader from the windows app (0.99$), but I still can't read them.

Any tips ? Thanks !

Hello @Tarek27368908h5hc,

Thanks for the message. It’s been a long time since you filed this bug. I apologize for the lack of a response. Are you still having this issue? If so, the team will need more info from you to reproduce the bug. Can you provide the information required here? How do I write a bug report?

I'll move your post to the Discussions board while we await your information.

Thanks,

Kevin

Watching, cause I have the EXACT SAME issue. Even reinstalled it and encoder (since it also has the issue for me). Only work around I found, which is not ideal, is running the footage through ME 2022 (not 2023) or earlier and encoding with a 422 instead. Then it works fine. Watching for an actual fix.

No need to install the codec, Premiere has it build in. MS wont help.

Trial version does not support H.265.
