Premiere Pro 24.4.1 update will not allow me to copy, paste, or paste attributes in my timeline

I opened Premiere Pro this morning to see it had done the auto update to 24.4.1.  Now it's not allowing me to copy and paste on my timeline or do a copy and paste attributes.  Everything was working fine on Saturday before the update.

I'm still experiencing this copy and pasting issue in version 24.6.1

I cannot copy and paste media larger than 1 file at a time which makes my job, as a film trailer editor, extremely difficult to do, as i'm constantly moving material around using the copy and paste feature.

SEND HELP!

Thanks,

Joe

Hey @Captin Stubing@wordking1, and @R Neil Haugen,

Thank you for your patience on this nasty issue. The team knows about this problem. It should be fixed in the current Premiere Pro Beta, which means it will be in the stable version shortly. Feel free to test it and report back if it works for you again.

I'm sorry that this version isn't working properly for you. I will advocate for the fix to be advanced to the stable version as soon as possible.

@Captin Stubing Thank you for highlighting the cumbersome bug filing process. As a former pro editor, I understand the challenges. I’m advocating for an automatic system that streamlines information input, saving you time. Try it out when filing Premiere Pro Beta bugs in the top-right corner of its UI—I believe it’ll benefit the community once in Premiere Pro. Your support is appreciated!

I upgraded the status of this bug report.

Thanks again!
Kevin

You post bugs on this forum ... so you just made a post, right? You could have made it a bug posting by simply clicking that option in the setup for creating any new thread on this forum.

Discussion/FAQ/Bug ... take your pic.

ALL bug posts show on this forum now.

Edit: It's easy to still be upset at the bug filing process, as it used to be far more convoluted and involved going to a different website and all. TOTALLY understandable to have some carry-over from those days.

But they have made it a lot easier. Kevin's post just pointed to a FAQ on this forum with the information stuff that is needed to get a post usable by the devs. Replication being necessary to be able to troubleshoot anything, of course.

But this forum is also the bug forum. And new ideas forum ... all in one place, finally. With a lot more devs participation than we used to get.

As far as the link to "how do I write a bug report", Adobe doesn't make it easy.  There shouldn't have to be a page of rules that we might get wrong, that posts to a forum that then they might see.  If we have an issue there should be a clear space that we can directly, because we pay for it every month, be able to send our feedback and actually talk to someone.  The forum thing is good for helping to troubleshoot but complete BS when you actually need help.

I agree!  Nothing but bugs that we have had to play work around since the update!

I worked on a different project today, when I start a new project it will let me paste in there initially, Anything after that it won't.  I have to make the two timelines a seperate window if I want to bring assets in to a project that use the same assets.  Likewise it picks and chooses when it will let me do past attributes.  I was over the moon when they fixed the issues with having a two screen setup only to be shut down with all of the bugs in the latest update.  I did the preference clear and it still gives me issues.  I won't even attempt to use the new enhanced audio because that has destroyed and crashed so many of my projects costing me so many hours it's not even worth it.  At this point it's still worth sending the audio over to audition to take the time to work it because enhanced audio completely destroys my projects to the point where I have to go back 5 or more projects to get to before where I used it.  I fully appreciate what the new capabilities are able to do but they are costing to much time and destroying the projects we use them on.  If we do this stuff in beta I get it's at our own risk!  But it's really complicating things in the main program now and costing substancial time.  Please bring these things back to Beta and give us back what has been working for years! Once Adobe gets it all working correct we will be beyond appreciative.  But as we all know in our business, time is money and the new features, giving the issues they have, aren't worth what we are paying when the old system worked great!

For me, NOTHING WORKS, I cannot highlight clips, I cannot highlight cut and put in transitions, basically I can't do anything in this updated version that I caould do previously.

Mod note: Please avoid profanity. It is against Adobe guidelines. Thank you.

Hi @Corey5E80,

Thanks for the report. That is an odd problem.

Please see the following post and format your report as follows: How do I write a bug report?

As far as troubleshooting goes:

  • Can you create a new sequence as a test and see if it works there?
  • If not, try a new project and let us know how it goes.

I hope we can help you.

Thanks,
Kevin

I did the hide on the one layer because I'm doing a video for a zoo and don't have rights to post the kids pics here so that layer was off, but everything else is on and unlocked.  I can't figure out where the issue may be.
