Premiere Pro creates 3 files when exporting an MP4 (.aac, .m4v, and .mp4)

I've seen Premiere Pro do this while rendering an mp4 file. It temporarily creates 3 files, then they all get merged at the end when the export is complete.

Now (in both version 2025 and 2025.1) the 3 files don't get merged at the end, they just stay like they are in the screenshot attached. This is after Premiere has finished exporting and the dialogue box has been gone for over a few mins.

I'm using an RTX 4080 super with latest driver, i9 14900k, 120gb DDR5 ram, and a Samsung T7 SSD.

Hi @IanB_360

Firstly, I have no idea why, but this is only happening with select projects. Some projects don't have this issue.

Export settings: MP4, CBR 30mbp, UHD, render in maximum render quality/bit depth.

I did follow that link and provided all the relevant details in my post (PC specs, Premiere version, video format). If there's something I misssed, let me know.

Hi @Will27540326c9gz

Thank you for taking your time to file a bug report. It could help the team to see the file export settings. If you could also utilize the  link here  How do I write a bug report and follow the steps to providing more information about your bug, we will gladly take a look.

Thank you

Ian

You need to show your export settings and some info on your files. I just tried tried it and it's normal, 1 file.

Are you using the Blu-ray export?
