Question

Premiere pro crushes when I try to flatten multicam or to export AAF

Hi there!

I have a bunch of multicam clips, and every time I try to flatten them, Premiere crashes.

The same thing happens when I try to export an AAF. If the sequence contains multicam audio/video, Premiere crashes.

It also crashes when I simplify the sequence and try to flatten the multicam.

This issue persists across all versions of Premiere Pro, from 2020 to 2025, whenever I attempt to flatten a multicam sequence.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi @Vlad_7612 - You can find your settings at C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Adobe\Premiere Pro\<version>

Before deleting the <version> folder make a backup.  This will reset your settings.

  • Issue -  Premiere crushes when I try to flatten multicam video or multicam audio. Same when I try to make aaf from seq where I used multicam.
  •
  • Adobe Premiere Pro version number:  any version from 2020 till 2025 does the same
  • Operating system - Windows 10 Version 10.0.19045 Build 19045
  • System Type       x64-based PC
  • System Info: CPU, GPU, RAM, HD:
    • CPU       2x Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2637 v4 @ 3.50GHz, 3501 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
    • GPU (Intel-based Macs and PCs) NVIDIA Quadro K1200
    • GPU driver (PC)  553.35-quadro-rtx-desktop-notebook-win10-win11-64bit-international-dch-whql
    • RAM  128 GB
    • Hard Drive  PLEXTOR 2
  • Video format:  proxy
  • Workflow details:  When I try to flatten MC  premiere crushes.
  • Steps to reproduce - (Very important!)   I have a bunch of multicam clips, and every time I try to flatten them, Premiere crashes.
  • The same thing happens when I try to export an AAF. If the sequence contains multicam audio/video, Premiere crashes.
  • It also crashes when I simplify the sequence and try to flatten the multicam.
  • This issue persists across all versions of Premiere Pro, from 2020 to 2025, whenever I attempt to flatten a multicam sequence.
  •  I tied to import the footage to new seq, doesn’t help
  • I tried to import seq in new project, doesn’t help
  • I tried to open on various Premiere versions from 2020 till 2025 same result
  • I tried  to open project and seq  on different PC – same result
  • Expected result -  Suppose to flatten MC to  single clip. Also suppose to export AAF
  • Actual result -   crushes premiere

So far I found one  solution . I  replace  every clip  from source. It is painful especiall when I need to replace audio clips too and it takes long time.   It is feature film and it is a lot of clips needs to be replaced audio and video

After replacing the  each clip from source monitor I can flatten it without crushing premiere.  AAF export work too

But it is one by one  and it is +3 weeks of my work.

would love to hear   about possible solutions
