Question

Premiere Pro not responding and crashing constantly

Since yesterday I have been trying to export a project and for hours it crashes, sometimes when I start exporting, sometimes even before that, just loading the footage. I already exported a copy of the same project a couple of days ago and it was working just fine, so I don't think it's the project.

Whenever it closes down, I can see in the task manager it is still open and using up to 3GB of Memory. When it is open and I am actually working (or trying to) it reaches 8GB of memory use.

Today I tried a different project. Much lighter in weight, and it also crashes. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I tried letting the computer cool down, I have free space in the SSD to make sure it is not running out, so I am not sure what else to do.

If Windows

Do not count on Windows to be fully up to date when it comes to device drivers
Go to the vendor site to be sure you have an updated driver for your graphic adapter
•nVidia Driver Downloads http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
••for Premiere Pro use the STUDIO driver, not the GAMING driver
•••such as (MAY not be the latest) https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/results/170344/
•ATI Driver https://www.amd.com/en/support
There are also intermittent reports that the newest driver is not always the best driver due to driver bugs or compatibility issues, so you MAY need to try an earlier driver version

Having the same problem.  Not sure what to do.  Trying to do a 4 minute video and it has crashed over 20 times.
