Doesn't lag but only when I apply effects like color grading..
it lags super bad on play back when using new blue fx, like a glitch transition..

the video format is 4k 10bit from a lumix g7

i know my computer handles 8 bit without breaking a sweat, is there a work around for the format?

pc specs:

ryzen 7 2700x

32gb 2666ghz

Rtx 3060 12gb vram

700watt psu

b450 board

10 bit 4k long-GOP media is nasty stuff to edit with. So if that's what you're dealing with, then yes, make Cineform or ProRes proxies. Which will take several times the space on disc, but play back much easier.

Even 10-bit 4k intraframe like ProRes, Cineform, or DNxHD/R media is hard enough when adding color changes & transitions & pulls in/out and a bit of time remapping. Let alone audio & graphics.

Might want to consider using proxies.

Even that doesn't help much sadly

If proxies (dont make H.264) dont work something else on your machine is going on.
