Problem with VR settings - Cannot change stereoscopic to monoscopic

Hello

I've shot videos on Pixpro, stitched them and they import fine on to Premiere. I have enabled the VR settings and get the VR special viewing screen.

But when I go into VR settings - to change the Frame Layout from Stereoscopic to Monoscopic, it is all greyed out and I cannot change it.

Does anyone know why this is happening? And what impact being stereoscopic will have on my final video, which I want to export and put into a Samsung Gear VR?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Adobe Tech Team.

I have the exact same problem as described: VR Footage and Sequence are set to monoscopic, but the Program Monitor shows me stereoscopic left view. Please fix this bug! I´m running Premiere 25.1.0, footage is from Insta360 pro.

Thank you!

Hi @eigenartfilmproduktion,

I'm Kevin from Adobe Support, a moderator here. This is a pretty old thread. You may get more traction for your bug if you file a fresh bug report here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/ct-p/ct-premiere-pro?page=1&sort=latest_replies&filter=all&lang=all&tabid=bugs.

Please give the team the following information for best service: How do I write a bug report?

I hope that helps. Take Care.

Thanks,
Kevin

The same thing is hapening in our Premiere Pro 2020 and Premiere Pro 2019 projects. We've tried with 360 videos coming from our Insta 360 camera, but also with 360 clips from the internet. We've tried with and without proxies. The "VR Properties" section in the Interpret Footage window is always empty and blank.

We are surely doing something wrong? Please help.

At least for me, "Interpret Footage" VR settings are still grayed out when working with Nikon Keymission 360 camera video files in Premiere Pro version 11.1.2. They the footage is incorrectly interpreted as Stereoscopic on import and I can't find a way to change it to Monoscopic.

Is Adobe going to fix this, or do I have to buy a new camera?

Hi MarkD,

I am sorry for the delay. Have you tried this in the latest update of Premiere Pro (11.1.2), released today?

If you are not able to see this update, relaunch CC desktop app.

Let me know if that works in the latest version.

Thanks,

Kulpreet Singh

it appears that because nikon keymission 360 footage has a ratio of 1:1, it is automatically recognized as stereoscopic. i dont know how to fix this

the video was ingested as vr, monoscopic, 360*180. When I go to adjust the output view so that when I render the video i have a wider and higher res view, I have no option to do such a thing. I only  have monitor view . no option for captured view, and view is stuck on stereoscopic left

I am having this problem as well. Footage has been interpreted as vr equirectangular and monoscopic, but when it is brought into any window, the vr settings are stuck in stereo left and monitor view only. Could i get a precise guide on how to fully ingest and interpret my video? Nikon Keymission 360

Am i to understand that the process has been simplified? To one view?

Hi anag3552913,

But when I go into VR settings - to change the Frame Layout from Stereoscopic to Monoscopic, it is all greyed out and I cannot change it.

Have you tried interpreting your footage from the project panel?

Right click on your footage (in the project panel) > Modify > Interpret Footage..

Thanks,

Kulpreet Singh

Hi Singh,

It's been quite some time but I hope you can still help me. I'm facing a similar issue.

The video from the Theta S has gone through the stiching program. Here's the details of the footage. As you can see it's already in the correct settings under "VR Properties."

But when I try to change the viewing options in VR settings, this is all I see:

Hi Avatarfire,

I can see that you are working with a VR video with full sphere of 360 degrees horizontal by 180 degrees vertical of captured view, along with Monoscopic Layout.

But when I try to change the viewing options in VR settings, this is all I see:

Monitor view control allows you to select the view for the particular headset you are creating this video for.

Or you can configure the field of view displayed on the monitor, which allows you to emulate different viewing experiences.

For example, an Oculus Rift might display a 90 x 60 degree field of view, while YouTube displays a 160 x 90 degree field of view.

Work with VR video |

Does that answer your question?

Thanks,

Kulpreet Singh

The same thing happens when I go to Sequence Settings - VR Properties in the actual clip.

The VR properties at the bottom is greyed out.
