Product Proposal — Agentic AI Editing for Adobe Premiere Pro

Hello Adobe Team,

I would like to share a product concept for Adobe Premiere Pro: an AI editing agent that operates directly inside Premiere and can understand, modify, and execute changes on the user's existing project and timeline.

The concept is similar to how modern coding agents operate inside development environments. Instead of simply generating suggestions or a separate finished video, the agent would be able to inspect the Premiere project, understand the timeline, analyze footage and transcripts, search available media, and execute editing operations directly within the project.

For example, an editor could write:

“Turn this interview into a 45-second vertical short. Remove pauses and repetitions, keep the strongest statements, add captions, use relevant B-roll from my project, and make the pacing faster.”

The agent would then analyze the project, create an editing plan, execute the changes, and allow the editor to continue refining the result conversationally.

The key idea is not to replace Premiere Pro, but to introduce an intelligent agent layer that can operate Premiere itself.

The agent could potentially interact with capabilities such as:

• Understanding the project and timeline

• Analyzing footage and transcripts

• Searching relevant B-roll

• Cutting, trimming, moving, and inserting clips

• Creating captions

• Adjusting pacing and audio

• Applying supported effects

• Reviewing its own changes

• Iterating based on natural-language feedback

This could turn Premiere into an environment where editors can instruct the application at a high level while retaining full control over the actual timeline.

I would be very interested in discussing whether this concept could be relevant to the future of Premiere Pro and its plugin/AI ecosystem.

Thank you for your time.

Best regards,

Mohamed

    Hi @John T Smith,

Actually, Premiere and After Effects team would not be monitoring wishform any longer, as far as I know. I’ll let them know. Just point folks to the feature requests forum. Thanks!

    Cheers,
