Projects taking 5+ minutes to open

25-year PPro user here. Recently, my projects started taking 5+ minutes to open. Even creating a new project is taking way too long.
PPro v25.1
Dell XPS 8960 / Windows 11 Pro
13th Gen Intel i9-13900 / 24 cores, 32 Logical Procesessors

64 gigs RAM

Nvidia 4090

It turned out I had picked up a virus that was causing other applications to behave erratically as well. I simply reloaded Windows 11 and everything works as it should now.

I had the same problem and couldnt fix it until I did a complete uninstall/cleanup of adobe CC and photoshop from my computer. This included having to manually clear leftover registry and system folders that Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool and the Creative Cloud Uninstaller neglected to clear out which was why the issue would persist after doing full reinstalls of everything.

Are these new projects or upgraded projects from a previous version?

If you want to check any issues with Premiere, you can always hold down "SHIFT" while launching Premiere and check the boxes
"Reset Plugin Cache"
"Disable third-party plugins (one time only)"
"Clear media cache files"

If these options don't help then you can try backing up your preferences and then see if brand new preferences help your issue.
