Quick Export Button - Nothing Happens

I am a student working throught the Adobe Premier Pro book Lesson 16. It is having me do a quick export. Literally all it has had me do so far is open the file and click quick export. Nothing happens when I click quick export. Apparently the Quick Export Dialog Box is supposed to appear. But nothing is happening. No alerts or anything. I have the most recent version of adobe premier pro - 25.6.2 and I have tried closing and restarting etc... I am on Windows 11 so things are up to date there. I have tried selecting everything in the sequence and then clicking quick export and still nothing is happening. I need to finish my class, any help is appreciated!

I held the ALT key (opt on mac) when opening and cleared the cache, and reset preferences, and now it is finally working. Spent SO MUCH TIME trying to figure that out. So thought I would post the fix here in case anyone else runs into this.

I’ve seen this happen in recent versions of Premiere Pro, so it’s likely not something you’re doing wrong. A few things to try that have helped others:

  • Make sure the Timeline panel is active (click inside it), not just the Project panel, before clicking Quick Export.

  • Try going to File → Export → Quick Export instead of using the button.

  • Reset the workspace (Window → Workspaces → Reset to Saved Layout) in case the dialog is opening off-screen.

  • If that still fails, use File → Export → Media as a workaround—your instructor should accept that since it produces the same result.

\Sounds like Premiere’s Quick Export window is getting stuck. Try restarting Premiere while holding Alt to reset preferences, then reset your workspace under Window   Workspaces   Reset to Saved Layout. That usually brings the dialog back. If it still won’t open, you can finish the assignment by exporting through File   Export   Media instead it works the same for class purposes.

Ok so the problem is that if you have a panel named adobe stock which is generally on the bottom left of the screen in premiere. Right click it and close that panel and restart premiere and your export button should be working

@brightlife,

True. You're in the Editing workspace. But that panel is opened by other workspaces, and may appear in different locations. If you switch to one of those workspaces, the problem will come back. See my link above to a post that explains how to prevent the problem from returning.

Not that this is your fault, but I did this, cleared the Cache and reset the preferences, and now every project I had been working on is GONE. The project I spent 7 hours straight on today is GONE. Deleted. I am going to implode, you actually have no idea how much self control it is taking me not to throw my laptop against a wall right now. Adobe needs to fix this, this is insane. The EXPORT FEATURE of ALL FEATURES TO BUG OUT IS NOT OKAY. EXPORT. THE WHOLE POINT OF EDITING ON THIS APP IS TO EXPORT. Someone needs to be fired. This is so not okay. Assignment due in 4 hours. No project. I will sue. That is a threat.

@thea_1143,

You are probably experiencing the bug described in the link below.

When you reset your preferences, the list of recently opened projects on the home page is cleared. Just click open project and navigate to its last location. If that is not it, search your drive for .prproj files.

If you get it and export is not working, you can use the File -> Export -> Send to Media Encoder.

Or look at the workarounds here:

@jillane_2900,

See this bug report and discussion:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-bugs/25-6-2-missing-text-panel-empty-uxp-panels/idi-p/15...

None of these open the Export window: Ctrl+M; File -> Export -> Media; click on the Export mode tab. As a workaround, use File > Export > Send to Adobe Media Encoder.

Also, right after you restart PR, do not change workspaces and see if the regular methods work.

Also File > Export > Media is not working either. Nothing is happening. It says "Premier Pro switches into export mode" but nothing is happening.

I also tried opening other projects and clicking Quick Export and nothing is happening so it is not just this file.
