Hello @SONER,

Thanks for the message. It’s been a long time since you filed this bug. I apologize for the lack of a response. Are you still having this issue? If so, the team will need more info from you to reproduce the bug. Can you provide the information required here? How do I write a bug report?

I'll move your post to the Discussions board while we await your information.

Thanks,

Kevin

Same problem here and not able to find a solution. I've a full green rendered timeline in proxies. Playing is fine but when I stop the video on that point turns yellow again and it's difficult to play. I've tried all the thing mentioned above here. I'm also in the latets version of Adobe V25.1 Do i miss something?

I will concur that caption tracks (subtitles) are a part of the bug. Less convinced formats/codecs matter - all my issues have been with ProRes media (often including prores render files too).

Michael, when I came onto this project (I'm the third editor), I was so unhappy with the performance and converted all the subtitles (Caption Track) to text instead.  Made no difference.   But I never spent long enough with that solution to see if the renders disappeared under those conditions.   On another note, I changed my render format to I-MPEG, also to no effect.

I am more and more of the opinion that all of my troubles spring from the combo of caption tracks and VFR phone footage - I think both are in play somehow.

This is not a new problem. It goes back a few years at least.

I see you think this might be an issue with a caption track?  What if you just export the timeline without the captions to a "mezzanine" format like prores lt or proxy and spot and edit captions in a timeline with just the export in the video track...  Easy enough to copy the finished caption track back to your edit sequence if necessary...    Not ideal, but might help you get over the hump.  Premiere has done a great job updating the caption workflow, but it can still be a bear.  Recently finished supervising the restoration of a documentary from the 80's and the client was so obsessive about the captions, it made me crazy.

Not sure how the render and replace workflow would work with captions, but might be worth a shot...

I'm in a spotting session this morning and rendered the entire timeline beforehand.  WHILE PLAYING, renders were disappearing - without closing the sequence or quitting Premiere, doing nothing other than playing and stopping.

I've tried both copying and moving my project into both free-standing projects, and new empty projects within the Production, to no effect.  Preview format renders are 1080 ProRes Proxy.   Thanks for trying to help!

I'm mystified, but wondering if I'm missing something here...  Wondering if you can copy a sequence into a new free-standing project (rather than a production) and see if you still see this behavior?    And phone footage once transcoded to cfr prores proxy shouldn't be causing any issues...    Would you be willing to spend some time zooming so I can take a gander at your project and see if anything's jumping out at me...  You can send me a direct message by clicking on my username at the top of any of my posts...  Kind of overwhelmed with a couple of projects right now, but could probably squeeze some time in...

Just a random thought:  what's your preview format in your sequence settings?  sorry if you've already said it in this thread.  It's getting late here in NYC...

I didn't pay $3500 to use proxy on M1 Max Macbook Pro 🙂

Yes indeed, to no avail.   The reason I'm having to render is because I am having tremendous problems with the entire project which includes huge amounts of VFR phone footage (now converted to CFR ProRes Proxy), which seems to be presenting an infinite variety of other dreadful performance problems, discussed in other threads.   But I'm trying to keep this thread focused on the disappearing renders - they should have nothing to do with those issues, as everything is 1080 or lower ProRes Proxy, and once it's rendered, it's literally new media - the fact that they disappear can't really have anything to do with what they started as, can it?   And yet they disappear, constantly, and almost immediately.
