Ripple Edit Tool Causes Premiere Pro To Be Unusable

After using the ripple edit tool, (B) i have to restart Premiere.

It becomes unusable, freezing and becoming unresponsive.

I reopen Premiere its fine, as soon as I use the ripple edit tool, it slows down to a standstill again.

I can repeat this every time I use the tool.

My graphics card is up to date, I've closed all other programs, I've never had this problem until now.
