Text Pannel Missing (Only showing UXP Pannel 1 or 2)

For the fast couple updates the text pannel is missing, only showing UXP Pannel 1 or 2. I have tried restarting resetting pulgin cache and delteting preferences. I have tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling both the main and beta releases (including Media Encoder). Not sure how to troubleshoot further.

Thanks for your help- I could really use this pannel!

@Kevin-Monahan I have an encouraging update! It appears that PP 25.0 has resolved the bugs I was expeiericing with the text and export pannel . It also seems from my early impression that I'm having better performace all around. Which it's still early to know for sure, this has been the most progress I've seen so far with all my tests and troubleshooting.

Unfortunately after months of it working sucessfully, the issue has returned in the 2025 release, including the beta. It again seemed to happen on a lager project- although I have been working in this project for a few weeks without any issue, and nothing seems to have changed in my workflow. In reading the otheer post related to this issue, I wondered if there could be something related to the location/size of the cache? In my case the media lives on a shared NAS and the the cache lives in the default location on my local computer.

Hello @Chris25201613u6it,

I wonder about the commonalities you and @Caleb34074613vo2mhave regarding your system, media, and workflow. Have you experimented with what

@Bruce Bullis suggested by creating a Production for commonly used clips from your VFX and SFX projects?

I hope we can help you sort this out. It seems to be a very stubborn and frustrating issue. Sorry about that.

Thanks,
Kevin

Unfortunately, I have not had any success with this issue and still working around it. It certainly is frustrating and compoudning with other new bugs/performace issues I'm trying to parse out related to playback performace. I'm contemplating having to wipe my comouter to try to start completely fresh. I have colleagues in our departmnet running in a similar enviroment who don't have this issue with PP24- making me think it's something related to some corrupt files hiding out that the CC Cleaner didn't get to. I just don't want the downtime required to do a wipe- but I've about run out of options, other than downgrading all my projects to 2023 LTS.

I made a screen recording detailing a bit more of the experience of this bug. As detailed in the other ticket I mentioned, if starting from a fresh Project File, the issues are not present. It seems ok with just a few files in the project but once I start adding more files then the bugs start and it eventually locked up. https://medialibrary.joniandfriends.org/Share/82g1n75s5t0rdab78873xedm5k4xiqw3

Hi @Stan Jones ,

I tried ripping out all CC apps using the tool and also deleted the application support file contents and reinstalled and the issue still persists upon re-installing. I actually realized that I am having a similar issue to this ticket: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-bugs/text-window-and-export-panel-not-opening/idc-p/14717355#M30219

My export pannel is also not working as described in the linked ticket. Whatever the issue is- we seem to be in a similar boat with an issue that started around the same time.

This is not a common issue.

I would use uninstall and use the cleaner tool:

Hi @Kevin-Monahan ,

Sorry for the delay- I'm now back to editing after being away for production overseas. Unfortunatelyt his issue still persists.

Here is futher bug info- let me know if there's anything else I can try.

  • Issue - Text pannel is not showing up, even after reinstall and updates.
  • Adobe Premiere Pro version number: 24.4.1 Build 2
  • Operating system - Mac Sonoma 14.5
  • System Info: CPU, GPU, RAM, HD:
    • Apple M2 Max

    • G4 GB

    • NAS via ethernet

  • Video format: MP4/MOV H.264 10 bit 4:2:2
  • Workflow details: Multi cam
  • Steps to reproduce - (Very important!) Selecting the Text based editing workspace displays a pannel that should be the Text pannel but only shows blank with UXP Pannels. Selecting the text pannel in other workspaces has no result and opens no pannel.
  • Expected result - The text pannel should appear and be functional
  • Actual result -  See above. Also I tried PP 2023 again today and it was also having issues with the Text Pannel.

Is there any way I can completely rip out Premiere and re-install? Maybe I missed something when doing this last time. Something seems corrupted.
