Timeline issue in premiere pro 2022

Whenever I add more than one piece of media to a project, the timeline becomes unresponsive and glitches out, and selections stay even though I have unclicked. This only happens on premiere pro 2022.

What are your system details (OS, CPU, RAM, GPU)?
Can you let us know the source of the media files?
