Tool Tips, New Item Button, & Workspaces Buttons not working in Premiere 2025

When you hover over a tool, the tool tips does not show up.  When you click on the Workspaces or New Item buttons, the menu pops up for a moment, but goes away before you can select anything.  Here are some steps I have tried:

  1. Made sure Tool Tips was enabled in the Preferences > General menu
  2. Reset preferences
  3. Disabled third-party plugins
  4. Changed to OpenCL, and Software Only for graphics
  5. Updated graphics card drivers
  6. Uninstalled and reinstalled earlier versions of 2025

When I install Premiere Pro 2024, they all work fine.  I am a teacher with a computer lab and this happens on all of the computers.  Very frustrating.

I finally figured out what was causing the problem.  We use a classroom management program called Veyon.  The latest version was causing this conflict and preventing the menus from staying open.  As soon as I reverted back to an older version of the Veyon software, the problem went away.  I appreciate you working with me trying to solve this problem.

I have not applied any custom settings to Nvidia control panel.  I just installed the latest drivers and made no changes to the default.  I also just tried unchecking GPU accelerated UI rendering and restarting.  The problem persists.  I do appreciate you helping out so efficiently!

Hi @tjkohlbrenner - Do you have any custom settings in the Nvidia control panel?

Can you check your preferences > General and check or uncheck "GPU accelerated UI rendering"

I just tried Resetting app preferences and it is still not working.  Here is the information you requested:

  • Adobe Premiere Pro version –  The screencast you saw with version 25.1, but I have also tried versions 25.4.1 and 25.5
  • Operating system – Windows 11 Edcation Version 22H2
  • GPU driver version (Windows only) – It is the NVIDIA T400 4GB card with Driver version 573.73
  • Video format  N/A
  • Comparative information helps us understand more about when the issue occurs:
    • Does it affect all projects or only some projects?  All projects
    • Does it affect new projects? All projects
    • When did the problem begin? As soon as we installed Adobe 2025 on our computers from Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App

Hi @tjkohlbrenner -
Thanks for submitting your bug report and the screen recording. We need a few more details to try to help with the issue.

Can you let us know your system specs you can find the information we need in this article. Please see, How to Report a Problem.

Can you try and hold down "SHIFT" while launching Premiere and check the boxes
"Reset app preferences" (Backup Preferences first)

Sorry for the frustration.
