Transcribing clips slows timeline.

When clips are transcribed using the new feature in the project panel. Timeline editing for the transcribed clips becomes slow and unstable. Inserting a cut point freezes the application for about five seconds until the text panel finishes doing its thing and splits the segment. 

 

Pr 24.1.0 Mac Studio M1 Max, 64 GB, Mac OS 13.4.

 

For clips that don't have a transcription, there is no issue. Creating a static transcript in a sequence resolves the problem until the clip that has the burned-in transcript moves to another sequence and then it happens again.

 

The solution is to remove the transcript from the clips but that is not a feature that exists to my knowledge. The only way to do that is to export the transcript and then import a static transcript for the clip.
