why are these timecodes being thrown off when someone passes me a project

I just tried opening it in Beta and the problem is still there.

only current solution is to open the project in Premiere Beta.

I think I'm having a similar issue except it's happening after transcribing a file instead of sharing a project file. Before I transcribed the file it looks normal in my timeline.

And notice the in point before transcription.

After transcription it's like the timecode of the file is completely off so like @rachelcenter said it looks like it has venetian blinds all over the clip.

And notice the timecode of the in point is completely different now.

As you might imagine my entire timeline is thrown off now as this clip appears in multiple places throughout. I've been looking for a way to delete the transcript but that doesn't seem to be an option. I found another thread that suggests re-transcribing the clip so I'm trying that. Maybe I need to roll back the version of Premiere that I'm on (24.0.0)? The only other option I guess would be to manually replace every edit in the sequence which will be a huge hassel. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

i saw this issue fixed weeks ago but it sounds like its back again.

we need to fix this issue stat where all the timecodes are thrown off when we pass projects back and forth (if transcription was done in the project)

@rachelcenter I'm sorry I missed that you had already tried it in Beta. Those clips specifically that are out of sync would have to have been transcribed and have a transcript attached in the Text/Transcript panel if it is this issue we're talking about.

you wrote "could you install premiere pro beta"? please re-read the sentence in my paragraph where I wrote "if i open it in beta instead of normal premiere, the issue isnt there." let me go confirm with my buddy if she did created this timeline for me in a blank project or if she deleted everything in a project where transcription was already done, and then handed it back to me.

@rachelcenter I'm sorry this is happening – it's likely an issue we have identified and fixed where in some cases if clips are transcribed and then relinked, you can get into this state.

To confirm if this is the issue and to work around it for now, could you install the Premiere Pro Beta version and open the original project there? You can find it in the Beta section on the left side of Creative Cloud. It's important that you open the original copy, not any version you have already opened and saved.
