Question

Write on effect works for the first piece of text and not after that

Write on effect works great the very first time I add text. In my video I want to have about 20 different spots where I use the write on effect. It seems ridiculous to have to crop the video and do each part as a new project in premiere pro. Can this really be the only way to do do write on effect multiple times? Why does it go so slow and freeze after about two titles? Please help! I'm so frustrated and I've started my project over again in 3 different ways hoping it will help with using the effect. I can't use after effects because the text needs to be lined up with moving video.

Listen to Ann Bens, do it in After Effects. It's easy there, here's a good/easy tutorial:

The problem with the write on effect is that it is a non gpu effect which means it needs a lot of cpu power especially on high compressed footage.

Best is to use Ae.

Is there a way to break the HD video into pieces to allow premiere to use the write on effect on only a tiny portion of the video? Maybe then the computer will not crash?
