i'm working on a video montage in premiere, but for a few days now the audio has been crashing, continuing to show me the error ‘can't access audio: the audio can't be read quickly enough from storage. please check your storage and try again.’

what should i do?

Same thing happened to me when I updated to the newest version. I edit clips stored on my LucidLink cloud and thought that maybe my 1GB fiber connection was acting up. I moved the entire project and clips to a local SSD, relinked everything to the local drive, and kept getting the same problem. It's impossible to pick coherent sound bytes.

Same here since this morning for no reasons and i use Premiere everyday. I just moved the audio file to another folder (Downloads) and it worked again. It's not the definitive solution but i could work again at least. I hope it will help some of you.

Same here, problem solved after downgrading to 25.1

Going to wait to update till that problem is fixed.

For me, this was happening only on audio clips downloaded from Adobe Podcast 'enhance speech'. To fix it, I converted them all to 48/24 mono and swapped out the files in finder with Premiere closed. Worth a try.

i just updated to 25.2.0 (Build 147) and am getting the same (annoying) message. Audio seems to cut out briefly, and is quickly restored.

After the message appears, the sound does not restore. I simply cannot hear it anymore. I have to restart the premiere to be able to hear the sound.

I have the same problem when I upgraded premier to 25.2.0 (147). You honestly pay for the program and are afraid to upgrade because you never know if the next version will work. It's not ok.

Thank you! we are working on a solution right now. I'll update this thread as soon as possible. The error should not cause an audio dropout. Right now the message is triggering more than often, so we are working on a fix.
