i'm working on a video montage in premiere, but for a few days now the audio has been crashing, continuing to show me the error ‘can't access audio: the audio can't be read quickly enough from storage. please check your storage and try again.’

what should i do?

I've been getting the same thing, it has driving me nuts.  Started after I upgraded to Premiere Pro Beta.  I wanted to try the clip extender tool so took the plunge.  I even upgraded my RAM from 32 GB to 64 GB in the interim, and ran SSD scans and can confirm they are in tip top shape.  I pushed through for two weeks suffering with slow playback, proxies that were fine before but now barely playable, a playhead that would just play for an extra twenty seconds after I paused.  I couldn't afford to wipe and rebuild my cache again, it takes too long, I've got about a terrabyte of mixed-source footage to work with.  In the end I just reverted back to the latest (not beta) version and for now it seems okay.

Beastly MSI laptop, tons of RAM, Windows 1 million or whatever the latest version is, latest firmware, latest OS, latest security, latest freakin' everything that can be updated... obviously.  What difference does it make?  Beta drags its knuckles like the boss character in a horror game.

I am having the same issue. Started getting the same error message today after updating Premiere yesterday.

MacOS: Sonoma 14.6.1 (23G93)

Premiere: Version 25.2.0 (Build 147)

I clean my media cache every evening, and I moved the cache location to my external drive, but I'm receiving the same error.

Hi I'm getting this error, intermittently. My storage is on nvme SSD and the media cache is on my internal drive, so I can't imagine that's actually what the problem is. I've tried emptying the media cache but that didn't help.

Seems to be ok for the audio from my camera (.MOV), but not from the separate synched version from the mic (.WAV)

MacMini M1 2020

MacOS 15.3.1

Adobe Premiere Pro (Beta) Version 25.2.0 BETA (Build 115)

Can you fix it please?

See this on a regualar basis as well on window.

Plenty of space on the SSD.
