Stuck at preparing media

I see this same problem has been going for a year. I can't even try Rush. It's so buggy I can't even attempt a video. Not a chance I'll put out money when I can't even get past the 1st screen. Don't even ask if my PC meets the requirements. I want a solution, not a condecending, do nothing question. Never once has a working solution been posted.
