Can I override the "Total Pages" placeholder in a PDF Template in RH2022?

As per title, I do not want the cover page to be considered a countable page, so my first content page restarts the page numbering, but I don't see an option anywhere in the template settings (or on Peter's site) to make the template account for this, so my last page footer now says "Page 11 of 12".

Can I adapt this somehow, or is the solution to remove the total count?

I am pleased to say a solution has been found to the problem.

I thought the templates had been designed to start the page numbering for the chapters at 1 and indeed it does do that. However, as you say the total page numbers are for the whole document. I didn't think that was how it was designed but seemingly it is.

I tried to use the option to restart page numbering at 1 but that seems to apply to the section and not the total page numbers.

I think for now you will have to remove the total but try Adobe Support as well.

See https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/enterprise-support.other.html#robohelp for your Adobe Support options. The email link tcssup@adobe.com is recommended as it reaches a team dedicated to Technical Communication Suite products including RoboHelp.

Sorry I can't help you. At least you know you are not doing anything wrong.

Maybe send it all to Word and edit in there before PDFing it? Just a suggestion as I don't do any PDF work out of RH.

Generally RoboHelp now has more settings for PDF than Word.

I thought the numbering was within the body so 11 of 11. I'll check tomorrow.
