RoboHelp 6 Print Docs

I was really looking forward to using RH6 to produce printed documentation because I attended an Adobe seminar where the presenter mentioned that there were lots of improvements. Well, I am very disappointed. I have yet to create a print doc in RH 6 without first going through quite a number of 'Code execution has been interrupted' message boxes. With RHX5, there were quite a few formatting issues, which I hoped would be corrected, but I never got error messages like this.

I don't know what the problem is, but I would sure appreciate some guidance.

Thanks,
Mary

In my first reply I mentioned admin rights but you still do not seem to have checked that.

RH X5 and RH6 can be installed on the same PC and I have that combo on a number of machines without any problem.

It could be the other people do have admin rights so you need to check your rights before you reinstall. Don't forget to deactivate RH6 before uninstalling.

Hi, Peter,

I checked with a couple of other people in my group who also installed RH 6 the same way I did. No problems at all compiling print documentation. The only difference is that I installed RH6 in addition to RHX5. They totally uninstalled RHX5. Could that have anything to do with it? Or, could I have a corrupted file?

I'm going to try to reinstall and see if that helps.

It could be different with the demo as that was not created on your PC.

Yes get your admin rights checked. It is the way RH ensures compliance with the licence by linking it to your profile.

I created a new project with one topic (title only) with no other text on the page. Unfortunately, when I try to compile a print doc, I get at least 10 of those VB error messages.

I have not tried using a demo project because if this does not work, I am sure I will run into the same problem with a demo project.

What should I do not....check the admin rights? I've never had to do anything with that before.

When you installed with the CD, it is important that your login had admin rights attached. Check that with IT. I'm not convinced that is the problem but it is the first thing to look at.

It was the Macro Security level to which I referred so that is OK.

Create a new project and see if that is any different. Then open on of the supplied demo projects and see if you can create a printed output from that.

With those things out of the way, we will know whether the problem is project specific or general.

P.S. If you are referring to the Macro Security level - that is already set to Medium.

I am using Word 2003 SP2. I installed RH6 with a CD like I always do. I didn't change anything and I haven't set any specific security setting for Word. Actually, I didn't know you could do that and don't really know why I would.

Not a problem I have seen or has been reported. What version of Word are you using? Was RH6 installed with your logon and admin rights attached? What is your Word security level setting, try Medium.

Those are first thoughts.
