I own Robohelp X5 Office. I had it installed on my PC and was using it. I recently installed a new motherboard and dual processor on my PC and tried to re-install Robolhelp. After inserting the Install CD and typing in the Product-Key, I got a message that the Product-Key was invalid. I double checked it and tried again--same error message.

I called Adobe and was told the software was to old and I need to buy the upgrade. That is rediculous. I purchased this software August 2007.

Does anyone know whom I can contact or a work around to this problem?

Yes. If the answer is in a post, you click Mark this as answer. If it is something you discovered, or it is a variation of what someone posted, add a post with that information and then mark that as the answer.

That is appreciated as it helps the next person along.

It seems like any of the "ehelp.com" sites examples:
    http://www.helpcommunity.ehelp.com/

    http://www.helpcommunity.ehelp.com/kb/robohelp.asp

Another problem: When I click on the menu HELP/Contents and Index, nothing happens.

The two links you will have to forget. On Adobe's site, look under Products and Support.

The online help is dead so change Tools | Options to use offline help.

    Peter:

I need to apologize to you and the others that looked at this problem. The problem was, I entered a numeric "0" instead of an alpha "O" when entering the Product-Key.

I do have another question: Maybe it should be under a new Thread?
Let me ask, maybe you know? All the links in Robohelp X5 are invaild (I'm sure they are pointing to Macromedia web sites). Are there corresponding sites for X5 within the Adobe environment?

    Thanks,
    Sam

Most links divert and the information should be there. Give us an example.

Peter: To use an old cliche, I think I am in a "Catch-22".

I went to your site and believe I found the Patches (X501 and X502).
I can NOT install them until I install Rpbohelp X5. I can't install X5 because of the product code problem.

Please, if you can help me, please advise.

    Thanks,
    Sam

    Sorry I misread you message.

The procedure is you install X5 and then subsititute the exe files because you cannot activate.

You must be entering the number incorrectly. Be aware of zero and the letter O.

    Try again and post back.

    Welcome to the forum

The information you were given is wrong. See Snippets on my site. It is not that the number is wrong, it is because the activation server for X5 had to be retired for security reasons. Instead you can now get two replacement files by following a link. Then X5 will run without activation.
