Question

Part Origins is Always Defined on Base Origin for .glb Files

I made one simulation on Solidworks for articulated robot. Every axis origin is defined on part/axis rotation/origin point. (not on the robot base) I exported this simulation to .glb format. If i import this .glb file to adobe aero, all axes looks seperated, like as exploded image. The reason is for example; joint 1 and joint 2 has different origin and there is a distance between of them on solidworks. When i imported that file on adobe, aero is putting this distance again as extra. If i define all part origin on robot base, during rotations because of the center point it's not working correct. I tried many times but i couldn't find solution, if you have any suggestion/solution, i'm listening carefully.

Thanks.

Hi there.

I too had this problem (I think). I'm using C4d. My work around was to create a cube within C4D set at 0,0,0 and surrounded my model/object and their individual animations. Everything was contained within that cube. The cube was made transparent and then I exported out to .glb format. It worked! I think the cube sets up a constant area in both dimensions and rotation.

I ended up exporting each animated part seperately but each exported part was contained within the same sized invisible cube. Try it. It worked for me.

Hi

Thank you so much for your recommend. I create one box like as you said but result is same.

I don't know why but some how Solidworks is exporting wrongly .glb or .gltf files.

It's just about the animated parts.

If i export some part without animation there was no problem, everything looks normal.

Some how it's putting extra gap between of the axis origins.

Can you PM me the model and I can take a closer look? Thanks

Hi @Kenan274439660xpc what does the origin point look like in for the object your Aero project(black circle around dot) for each object?

If you need to adjust the origin on the .glb one way you could do it is you can import it into blender, select it and choose object->set origin(see screenshot)

You can also send me your .real via PM and I will take a look. Thanks!

Hi

I imported below .glb file to Blender.

I checked all axis origin point and they looks normal but axis body is not on correct position.

Also i tried to move every body to origin point like as you said but it's not working.

Even if i change body position, when i started animation all axis is turning back to begining position.

I couldn't find some solution so far, maybe there is a solution on blender but i don't have experience on Blender.
