I am using Windows 10, Acrobat Reader DC version 2021.007.20099 / 64-bit

I open Fill & Sign, click on "Sign Yourself", click the "+" to add a signature, and I get a big BLACK popup window from which I can do nothing except hit "Esc" to get back to the document.  Impossible to add a signature.  What do I do?

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that. As described you are unable to sign the PDF and getting the black pop up window.

Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive please download it to your computer first and then try again and check.

As you have the recent version of the application please try to repair the installation from help menu and reboot the computer once and check.

Also try to reset the Acrobat Preferences as described here - https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/m-p/4792082 and see if that makes any difference.

Also go to Edit > Windows > Signatures > Creation and appearance , click More > Uncheck , 'Use modern user interface' > Click OK and reboot the computer once.

Regards

Amal

Hi Amal,

This a behavior with all the PDFs? I downloaded the PDF to my local computer and the same problem occurred.

I have tried to repair the installation from the help menu and rebooted and the problem continues.

I have tried to reset the Acrobat Preferences as described and the problem continues.

I have tried by Unchecking, 'Use modern user interface', clicking OK and rebooting and the problem continues.

Now what?

Sorry - first item was not a question - it DOES occur with all PDFs.
