All Tools Pane Disappears/Empty When I Select Edit PDF?

When I select “Edit PDF” option, the “All Tools” pane disappears.

This issue seems persistent.

I’ve tried looking at the view/show settings.

Running a repair on the installation.

Uninstalling and Reinstalling Adobe Acrobat.

Can someone please help or provide some suggestions?

Thank you,

    Hi All,

Thanks for your patience and cooperation on this.

The patch is available with the fix 26.001.21691, Planned update, Jun 25, 2026. Please install the latest build of Acrobat from Menu > Help> Check for updates. Restart the machine after installing the updates, and check the performance of the app.

Let us know if you experience any issues after installing the latest build

    Regards,

    Anand Sri.

This bug has been a significant bottleneck for our administrative workflow at oak loop properties pearland. We handle a high volume of lease agreements and inspection reports for our rental properties pearland portfolio, and having the "All Tools" pane vanish while trying to finalize a contract is a major disruption.

I can confirm that for our Windows users, the registry edit mentioned by Anand Sri (adding the bGenCoverPagesLabelStrings DWORD) did resolve the issue temporarily. However, for our staff on Macs, we are still struggling with the disappearing pane.

In the meantime, the only way we’ve stayed productive with our pearland property management documentation is by disabling the "New Acrobat" interface (View > Disable New Acrobat). It’s not ideal, but it’s the only way to keep the tools visible until a formal patch is released.

Hopefully, the engineering team can roll out a fix in the next update so localized firms like ours don't have to rely on registry hacks for basic functionality!

    Hi @bestpearlandproperty

Thank you for sharing this detailed feedback and we are sorry for the disruption this has caused to your team's workflow.

We appreciate you confirming that the registry workaround resolved the issue for your Windows users. For your Mac users, please continue using View > Disable New Acrobat as the interim workaround to keep the All Tools pane visible while this is being resolved.

Note: Could you close Acrobat entirely and if possible restart your machine and try again. Ensure your machine is connect to internet. And let us know if this issue is still reproducible.

Let us know how it went.

Is there any word from Adobe when an update will be release to fix this problem?

I don’t think this is the answer.  The answer should be released in an update, not a registry mod.

I am assuming you meant to let us know there was an update that was pushed out.

As of this morning, my version is 2026.001.21677 and the tools options now display.

I am also having this issue.  I need to update forms using the Prepare Form and modify pdfs as soon as possible.  Not sure what to do if I can’t do my responsibilities

I resolved this issue by deleting the preferences folder from %appdata%

We are seeing the same issue in our environment.

The issue appears to have started after a recent Acrobat update. Users report that selecting Edit PDF causes the All Tools pane to disappear or appear blank. We have confirmed the behavior across multiple users.

    • The following workarounds have been successful for us:
    • Switching back to the legacy Acrobat interface.
    • Using Acrobat on the web.
    • Toggling between the new and old Acrobat experience (some users reported this temporarily restores the tools).

I reviewed the June 17, 2026 release notes (26.001.21677) and do not see this issue listed as fixed. I also do not see it listed on the official Known Issues page.

Is Adobe able to provide an ETA for a permanent fix or identify the version that will contain the fix once available?

regedit has to be launched as an administrator for this edit to go through. you can search in the Windows Search for “regedit” then either right click and “Run as administrator” or select this option in the right pane when Registry editor is brought up.
