All Tools Pane Disappears/Empty When I Select Edit PDF?

When I select “Edit PDF” option, the “All Tools” pane disappears.

This issue seems persistent.

I’ve tried looking at the view/show settings.

Running a repair on the installation.

Uninstalling and Reinstalling Adobe Acrobat.

Can someone please help or provide some suggestions?

Thank you,

Thanks for your patience and cooperation on this.

The patch is available with the fix 26.001.21691, Planned update, Jun 25, 2026. Please install the latest build of Acrobat from Menu > Help> Check for updates. Restart the machine after installing the updates, and check the performance of the app.

Let us know if you experience any issues after installing the latest build

    Regards,

Any update on when the actual fix is coming, besides the workaround?

Has the version that fixes this issue been released yet? What is the version number? Thank you for your help

Thank you Adobe Community for providing a workaround!

I request you kindly consider the following incident response policies going forward:

    1. PROVIDE A WAY FOR ALL USERS TO REPORT ISSUES WITH PLATFORM FUNCTIONALITY. I tried every which way to alert Adobe about this issue, however  nobody on my team is a “support-entitled user”, and nobody could figure out how to identify that person (not even manager) within (large) company.
    2. PLACE A NOTIFICATION BAR ON SCREEN FOR ALL USERS WHILE AN ISSUE IS LIVE.
→ include description and scope of outage
→ include ETA for restoration of service (so workflows can be adjusted)
→ include workarounds for production during outage.

    Very truly,

    Hi @Laura.Bulson

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback and we genuinely appreciate the detail and thought behind it.

On your first point, we understand how frustrating it can be when there is no clear path to report an issue, particularly in a large organization where identifying the support-entitled contact is not always straightforward. As an immediate step, Adobe system status and active incidents are publicly visible at https://status.adobe.com without requiring a support entitlement, and any user can subscribe to notifications there for real-time updates on service disruptions.

Additionally, the Adobe Community at https://community.adobe.com is open to all users and is a good place to report issues, ask questions, and check whether others are experiencing the same behavior. Our team actively monitors the community and can help escalate where needed.

On your second point, the suggestion around in-product notification banners during live incidents is noted. The status page remains the current designated channel for outage communication including scope and workarounds.

We have passed your feedback along internally. While we cannot commit to specific changes in incident response policies here in the community, feedback of this nature is taken seriously and does inform how Adobe looks at communication during service disruptions.

We appreciate your patience and thank you for helping us improve.

also.. this fix is only for Windows… MacOS is having the same issue. Why not just rollback the update?

@stokes24x7 Just in case, you can simply disable ‘new Acrobat’ under the View menu.

Confirming switching to the old UI has resolved the issue. Interestingly, when I switched back to the new UI, the Tools are back to normal, but I suspect that will be temporary and it’s probably best to remain in the Legacy Acrobat for now.

I don’t understand why this needs to be done to fix this issue when it should simply be included and fix the issue immediately and all users have to do is update their Acrobat to latest with the fix in place to avoid all this nonsense in the first place? Common sense, no?

Has your team rolled back the feature that caused the bug? I've seen a response on this thread indicating that this would be automatic and done today. I don’t want to have my team tweak the registry for every user at our business. Please advise.

I turned off the new adobe interface until Adobe gets the problem fixed….

Confirming “Disable new Acrobat” resolves this issue. The old Tool Menu appears normally.

We are currently seeing this same issue across the company. I have had over 15 tickets opened with our helpdesk for this issue within the last week alone.

We did find a workaround. In Adobe Acrobat, click the Menu button in the top-right corner, then select Disable New Adobe. Once that is selected, the toolbar should reappear.

Please note that disabling the new Adobe experience will bring the toolbar back, but users will lose access to the drawing function.
