All Tools Pane Disappears/Empty When I Select Edit PDF?

When I select “Edit PDF” option, the “All Tools” pane disappears.

This issue seems persistent.

I’ve tried looking at the view/show settings.

Running a repair on the installation.

Uninstalling and Reinstalling Adobe Acrobat.

Can someone please help or provide some suggestions?

Thank you,

    Hi All!

Thanks for your patience and cooperation on this.

Please try the following suggestions, and let us know if this fixes the issue for you.

Please note: Create a backup of the registry settings before making any changes. To create a backup, check this article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-back-up-and-restore-the-registry-in-windows-855140ad-e318-2a13-2829-d428a2ab0692

    • Go to the registry location: "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\FeatureLockDown"
    • Right-click on the right blank space > select New > DWORD 32-bit value.
    • Rename it to:  bGenCoverPagesLabelStrings
    • Right click on the new value > Click Modify > add the value as ‘1’ (numeric one)
    • Restart the Acrobat and the machine and check the performance.

Let us know if you experience any issues.

    Regards,

    Anand Sri.

How will we know when the update is finished and ready? Also, if anyone needs, the web-versions works for these options.

Hi All, Current work around that my teams has been using is to go into Menu>Disable New Acrobat>restart the program. You will be able to edit and everything but it will look like the old version of acrobat so you might need to re-orient yourself.

We are having the same issue as well. Started yesterday. Updating and reinstalling did not fix it and disabling New Acrobat did not work either.

We are also experience this exact same issue on anyone that has updated to the latest Adobe version, is there an ETA on that public build?  Switching back and forth to old Adobe is not a great solution for us.

My organization is having the same problem. It started yesterday while we were still on 2026.001.21662 64-bit. Upgrading to 2026.001.21667 did not fix it. Running Windows 11 Pro 10.0.26100. Disabling New Acrobat is working and users have all the tools.

    Hi all,

Same issue here. It worked well a day before and suddenly everything turned empty on that panel and it seriously affects my work. I work on a work laptop so I have no permission to modify this app. I have to ask our IT for help while I keep trying to fix this issue.

At first, I asked our IT let me repair the software, it failed.

And then our IT re-installed Adobe, I logged in to my Acrobat acct. It worked once and then failed again.

Then a progress bar of “Updating key features” appeared but it stuck in the progress bar of upgrading key features for an hour. I kept the software running for whole night and this morning it still hasn’t finished “Updating key features”.

Nothing has been fixed and I am not the only one facing this issue. We really need this solved ASAP. Our company has been paying huge amount of subscription fee but we can’t even use this service properly. Please fix this otherwise our productivity will be affected.

    Thanks

This is starting to hit our computers. We are having to “Disable New Acrobat” to be able to use any tools.
