All Tools Pane Disappears/Empty When I Select Edit PDF?

When I select “Edit PDF” option, the “All Tools” pane disappears.

This issue seems persistent.

I’ve tried looking at the view/show settings.

Running a repair on the installation.

Uninstalling and Reinstalling Adobe Acrobat.

Can someone please help or provide some suggestions?

Thank you,

Thanks for your patience and cooperation on this.

The patch is available with the fix 26.001.21691, Planned update, Jun 25, 2026. Please install the latest build of Acrobat from Menu > Help> Check for updates. Restart the machine after installing the updates, and check the performance of the app.

Let us know if you experience any issues after installing the latest build

    Regards,

Yeah, this should be patched rather than registry bodgery. The registry fix mentioned here doesn’t work anyway. Can we get a patch ETA for this problem please?

    Hello @joedalton

I hope you are well, and sorry for the trouble. Could you please share more details? What happens when you try the registry settings? Do you get any error message? Can you share a screenshot and a quick video recording of the steps and the workflow?

Have you tried disabling the new Acrobat UI? If neither of the workarounds is working for you, then can you please share the screen recording, and the following details, along with the logs:

As many of the users have confirmed that the issue has been fixed with the workarounds. However, if the steps are not working, then we will share the details with the product team for further investigation.

Thanks for your cooperation, and we will be waiting for the requested information.

    Regards,

    Anand Sri.

    Hi Anand,

We would have 265 users using Adobe Acrobat Pro currently, so it’s not really feasible to push this registry edit to all of these users just for a workaround. Not all users are affected yet but it is increasing as time passes and as more users use the app.
The registry key was added on my own machine as I have the problem too, then afterwards I restarted but the issue persisted.
Disabling the “New Acrobat” option has worked and is allowing users to sign documents again but this is only a workaround, so that’s why I’m wondering when a patch would be published to fix this issue for the “New Acrobat” or if there was any lead time on that?

    Thanks,

    Joe

    Hello @JMitchell49

    I hope you are well.

Please try the following suggestions, and let us know if this fixes the issue for you.

For Mac, disable the Acrobat new UI from the Acrobat menu > Disable the new Acrobat.

    For Windows:

Please note: Create a backup of the registry settings before making any changes. To create a backup, check this article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-back-up-and-restore-the-registry-in-windows-855140ad-e318-2a13-2829-d428a2ab0692

    • Go to the registry location: "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\FeatureLockDown"
    • Right-click on the right blank space > select New > DWORD 32-bit value.
    • Rename it to:  bGenCoverPagesLabelStrings
    • Right click on the new value > Click Modify > add the value as ‘1’ (numeric one)
    • Restart the Acrobat and the machine and check the performance.

    If the issue still continues,

Could you provide more details as follows:

    • Acrobat version installed
    • Operating system name and version
    • Registry key copy - right click on key and export, rename as txt format and upload here. For Windows OS only
    • And a short video of the issue.

    Regards,

    Anand Sri.

The acrobat engineers should be ashamed of themselves. I’ve never used a software with so many problems.

Easiest solution (Thanks to Google Gemini). It worked perfectly for me! In fact, I prefer the older interface.
