Intertrust has released an updated version of its Doc Box plugin for Adobe Acrobat 5.0 and Acrobat Reader 5.0.

Users that require the Intertrust digital rights management system in order to open secure pdf files are encouraged to download the new plugin. This new plugin also fixes problems for people who had system or debugger conflicts with the Doc Box plugin.

NOTE: This update is not supported on Windows 95. If you are using Windows 95 and are having issues with DocBox.api, simply remove any and all instances of this plugin. You can find the plugin by doing a search for "docbox.api" on your system.

So, how do you delete all instances of DocBox? I am not computer savvy so please include all steps. I have Windows '95 on a dinosaur of a computer. I had Acrobat 4.0, but Acrobat could never find the handles to open the window??? Whatever, this is frustrating.

Have you ever considered removing the docbox.api file BEFORE putting it on the CD? I doubt if any of your users are going to need it unless you are plannng on securing your documents with InterTrust software.

Is there a way to download a WORKING package of Acrobat Reader 5, without jumping through all the docbox.api hoops that have plagued this product since early this year?

Hasn't Adobe released a patched version that works?

We distribute reader along with our PDFs to end users, and asking them to perform these cyber-gymnastics to read our documentation isn't going to fly. Our only other option is to revert to 4.0 reader...

    Any info? Please? HELP! =)

    Sorry folks

I went back through the thread not just the last few that come up at the first and found that I had to completely delete all instances of docbox.api.

All is now running fine without docbox. I thought I had to install the latest version, but now I see that for Windows 95 docbox.api must not be present at all.

    Thanks again

I downloaded Acrobat Reader 5.0. When I tried to start it I got the message:

ACRORD32 caused an invalid page fault in
    module DOCBOX.API

I then downloaded the new docbox.api as descibed above, deleted all instances of it and installed the new docbox.api.

However I am still having the same problems and cannot open Reader 5.0.

What should I do now? I am getting a bit desperate!

    Thanks in anticipation

    Mihn,

The file can not be used any more. It is FUBAR (Fouled Up Beyond All Recognition). Try to find another copy, or contact the originator for a new copy.

I have the PDF file but can not open. The message box wrote "There was are error opening this document. There was a problem reading this document (107)". Please tell me how to recovery my file or this file can not be used more.
