Intertrust has released an updated version of its Doc Box plugin for Adobe Acrobat 5.0 and Acrobat Reader 5.0.

Users that require the Intertrust digital rights management system in order to open secure pdf files are encouraged to download the new plugin. This new plugin also fixes problems for people who had system or debugger conflicts with the Doc Box plugin.

NOTE: This update is not supported on Windows 95. If you are using Windows 95 and are having issues with DocBox.api, simply remove any and all instances of this plugin. You can find the plugin by doing a search for "docbox.api" on your system.

Use Start>Find>Files and Folders to locate ALL instances of docbox.api. Then exterminate them all.

What the hell does that have to do with the docbox.api error? We have another endless topic covering the WinXP/Adobe Products incompatibility.

Come to think of it, this isn't even the Reader forum, it's the Acrobat Windows forum, but to answer your question, because I have enough people sending me nasty e-mails already, use the Win2K version, but REMOVE THE DOCBOX.API FROM THE INTERTRUST PLUG-INS FOLDER FIRST!

Windows XP: I wanted to download Acrobat reader to my new computer. The downloan site didn't have Windows XP as an avalaible operating system. Is it avalaible or will another version compatiable?

I got the help I needed early on in these messages (THANK YOU!), but I got hooked on the droll interplay among the regulars and had to read it all. It's not often I can find tech help AND entertainment in the same venue.

Thanks to Tom G and everyone else, I finally got 5.0 to run!! Previously, I have installed, uninstalled, downloaded and re-downloaded 5.0 four times and on a 120mhz machine it was BORING!! I even called Adobe twice and was finally told about this forum. Happy Holidays to y'all and God Bless America!
