Can I make the first page of each page range be at the front??

I am printing multiple page ranges at a time and I want to know if there is a way for me to have the first page of each page range be at the front when all the page ranges are printed? So basically have the printer treat each page range as a separate print job. Anyone knows if this is possible and how to do it?

What chapter function? Is that a feature of your printer dialogue? It may then be printer specific. Could you state also the type of printer you use and a screen shot of "the chapter function"?

Here is a screenshot of the details of the "chapters" function which is a printer property. The printer I am using is a KONICA. I am guessing they will probably know the answer to my question best since the chapters function is not an Adobe feature. I am lead to believe the reason it is not working for me is that I can't use the chapters function and also select multiple page ranges to print. I tried selecting just one page range and did a test print and the printer feature partially worked, meaning it placed some of the even numbered pages I selected on the right side but didn't capture all.

Adobe Acrobat does not know about the chapter feature of your Konica printer. May be Konica has a kind of plug-in for Acrobat. As a worst case, you need to use the Konica feature without support from Acrobat.

Let me make some assumptions that I read out of your request:

You have one PDF file containing different chapters (what you call page range) and you are printing recto/verso. You want the first page of each chapter to start on a new page.

The PDF file is straight forward like that. It prints page one to the last one (or the range you indicate). If you want to start a page on a certain place, you need to make sure that the pages before end at the right place. In other words: All your chapter starts/range starts need to start on odd page numbers. You get to that by inserting empty pages before, if they aren't situated correctly.

You can insert blanc pages a) with the source document like Word or Indesign or you could edit your pdf afterwards by inserting a blanc page using Acrobat DC Pro.

Hi,

Your assumption is mostly right. So yes my pdf has chapters but my thing is I am selecting multiple page ranges to print so I am not printing the whole document. At first I thought I could use the function called "chapters" from the printer properties under the Layout tab. From what I understand using chapters should allow me to select the pages that I want to be at the front (i.e. be on the right side) and the printer will automatically insert a blank page if that page was going to fall on the left side, therefore essentially forcing it to go on the right.

Unfortunately the chapters thing did not work for me as some pages are still ending up on the left. So I assumed two things.

1. Either my interpretation of the chapters function from printer properties is wrong

2. I might not be able to use the chapters function in combination with selecting page ranges to print.

I hope I have explained my aim/situation a bit more clearly. I appreciate any help I can get.
