Chrome and Edge Will Not Open Pdf Portfolios and Combining Pdfs won't retain digital signatures

Hello.  I have groups of documents I need to add to a cloud browser based program for supervisors to review.  We have a couple thousand of these documents per year at our place of business.  Unfortunately, one document in each set that is uploaded has a digital signature with meta data that we need to retain.  If we upload as a combined pdf, we lose the digital signature but others can view the pdfs in the web browser.  If we upload as a pdf portfolio, the digital signature is retained, but we are getting the error splash screen to use Adobe Acrobat X or Reader X or higher.  The pdf portfolios won't open in Chrome or Edge, or only options.  Does anybody have any ideas how we can combine files that include one page with a digital signature and still be able to see these files in Chrome or Edge?  This has been crippling to our work flow.  We were able to see portfolios in IE, but it has been phased out.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Combining files with digital signature into a single normal PDF, preserving the signature, is beyond impossible; it would violate every design idea of digital signatures and throw into question the authenticity of millions of documents. Imagine being able to slip a page into a contract after it was signed... digital signatures ALWAYS certify the document, no matter how people see them as "signing a page".

Unless or until the browser makers start following the PDF rules for portfolios, I can't see a way. Your user base needs to be trained to download and open in Reader; your workflow needs to have that as its foundation.

Thank you for the quick response.  I believe that is part of the way we have our browsers set up.  For some reason, it doesn't default to downloading the portfolio and allowing us to open it in Acrobat Pro.  We want our pds to default to opening in acrobat and that is working fine.  We just need when we say open attachment in the cloud program for chrome or edge to prompt us to save and open.  A setting that is working on some of our HP ProBooks and not others.  We are not aware of any special plugin on the machines where it is working.  Thanks again.

This is a setting of the browser itself, which determines what happens with PDF files when you click them.
