Invalid Serial Number for Acrobat Xi Pro

Purchased a new copy of Acrobat Xi Pro when I was in the U.S. and went thru the installation process on a new computer that I have in Hong Kong.

When I entered the Serial Number, the message I received was Invalid Serial Number.

Now I cant seem to get past this message and Adobe help appears to be totally useless.

Can anyone advise on how I can register this?

I also suffer from the same case (for Acrobat 11) that cannot put the serial number into Adobe ID.  Support agent said the serial number is valid for surprisingly Acrobat 6.  Serial number starts from 1118-1334....

Go back to whoever you bought it from and demand a refund. If you paid via credit-card or PayPal do it through them and report the seller.

You only register a product once.  You can install and activate multiple times.  If this is the first time you are installing the software then it sounds like you didn't purchase the software from Adobe since they do not sell older products.  In this case you are stuck with whatever whoever sold you unless you can resolve the matter with the seller.

Purchased it from a computer shop selling software as well as computers.The box was sealed in shrink plastic and did not seem tampered with. It was discounted (cost USD120), but all indications are that it is an original Adobe package.As receipt thrown away and am in Hong Kong, cant even remember the shop name, Looks like I lost some money.

FWIW, Acrobat 11 hasn't been available from Adobe Authorized Resellers for over two years now. Unfortunately, it is very easy to counterfeit packaging and there is virtually nothing that we can do about that at Adobe.

Often software pirates will either offer “cracked” software, potentially containing malware, software with stolen serial numbers, or software using serial numbers originally sold for use in volume purchases such as for a full company, a practice known as “unbundling.”

In the last two cases, when Adobe detects such fraudulent activity, it does invalidate the serial numbers involved.

Sorry that you got into this type of expensive mess.

PS:     FWIW, there are some scammers/pirates that sell counterfeit current versions with bogus serial numbers at prices that are not “too good to be true” but discounted enough to be credible.
