Question

Missing PDFMaker files. Do you want to run the installer in repair mode?

I have an end user in our office that is using Adobe Acrobat DC and Microsoft office Professional Plus 2016(16.0.4266.1001). When the user attempts to convert an excel file to a PDF from file explorer, they get the error "Missing PDFMaker files. Do you want to run the installer in repair mode?" Adobe is up to date and I have installed the latest updates for Office 2016. I have also attempted repairs to both office and adobe with no luck. The PDF maker add-in is showing up as an inactive (in Excel) so I attempted to add it by going to manage COM add-ins, and adding "Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Addin" Unfortunately when I close Excel the Acrobat tab gets removed and I have to do this over again. I tried to make a change to the load behavior for PDFMaker.Office.Addin. The value was already set correctly, to 3, so that did not help. I attempted to uninstall and re-install both Adobe and Office and the problem still presented itself. I also tried to manually register the COM add-in file by running this command in an elevated command prompt but got an error stating "The module failed to load. Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent .DLL files." regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 15.0\PDFMaker\Office\PDFMOfficeAddin.dll"

Any ideas on how to correct this issue?

What did you figure out.  Can you share with the class please as I have a user with the same problem.  It would be very much appreciated.

Thank you.

Roll back to MS Office 2010.
