OCR Error - Pro DC Fails but Acrobat Standard 9 Works

As the title states, OCR through Acrobat Pro DC gives errors when attempting to recognize text whilst the same document is recognized using OCR with Acrobat 9 Standard. This is not every PDF. There is a large number of PDFs that I'm having to resort to an older product. What's going on that would cause this problem? See the error messages below. This error is when using Windows 7 computers and repeatable on multiple machines.

It handles scanned pages not images on pages mixed with other things. Word is absolutely unsuitable to prepare an image PDF for OCR because it is certain the pages will contain other elements. Wrong workflow.

Regardless, that's not my question. Look at the first two posts. PDFs are failing to OCR on some machines and receiving those errors I posted while other machines can OCR the PDFs without error. You're derailing my thread.

Acrobat does not allow for the concept of "images needing OCR on pages of text". You'd need to somehow OCR them first. Similarly, any activity like stamping or numbering pages must be done after, not before, OCR.

I'm sorry? You're saying OCR through acrobat isn't used to recognize text from scanned images?

I have installed Acrobat 9 on one of the machines that is getting this error. Now it gets a different error...

What is causing this? These are word documents that were converted into PDFs.

If the file was made from Word it should already contain text, and so OCR would do nothing. Why do you want to run OCR on this file?

They are images, so the text itself isn't recognized. The need for OCR is to recognize the text. This is just one of the examples. Other files are scanned documents getting the same error.
