Every industry spawns some "in jokes" and ours is no exception.  I'll start with some video editing jokes since I do a lot of that:Q:  How many editors does it take to change a light bulb?A:  Change?   I'm not changing a thing!Never trust an editor with a sun tan.Anybody tempted by the dark side, remember AVID spelled backwards is DIVAQ:  Why did the film editor decide not to make the change the non linear video editing?A:  He thought it wasn't a reel job.So, does anybody have any more?   They don't have to be video related...any "Creative" in jokes are welcome!

I've been toying around the idea of starting a graphic design side hustle. I currently work in a rock quarry that is about a two-hour roundtrip daily drive for me. I have been volunteering at my church with the Media team. I have purchased an Adobe CC subscription and have been going through as many tutorials as I can. I used to design and build personal websites, but that was back in the mid-90's. I am looking for any insight, advice, or knowledge on where to start with graphic design for a side hustle. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I am afraid I have no idea which community to place this question in. Adobe requires that I chose a specific community; so apopogies as it is probably in the wrong place. Perhaps someone will, as a start, know where this question would be best placed..?My business partner and I run a small architectural engineering consultancy. We wish to produce a single page online flyer for marketing purposes. We would like our mobile phone numbers, email addresses and website to appear on the flyer as active links. If a client views our flyer on their mobile device or laptop, a tap or click on our phone number, email, or website will initiate a phone call / email or direct to our website.We wish to individually email clients / prospective clients with this marketing flyer as a (probably) PDF attachment to the mail. I need to create an eLearning module with interactive video.  So the video plays and then a certain points it stops and asks a question (overlay on top) that the user answers and then is presented with the correct answer... Then the video continues.  This video will be watched on all devices so it can not be a SWF file...What is the best CC application to do this is Animate or After Effects.  I thought Animate but it does not allow for video to be viewed in the time line and therefore impossible to animate over at certain point in the playback.Can anyone suggest to best way and the best CC tools to achieve this result?

Why do you use 'then' instead of 'than' word. I noticed in chats with people they do it constantly, so not just single time by mistake but each time there is need to use 'than' word. However I don't speak english well that little change sounds terrible. Is there something about this language I don't know I should use 'then' instad of 'than' like others?I never noticed anyone says 'Thenk You' but always 'Thank You'. It's little different as there's not 'thenk' word; still it's similar.What is really wired, Google Translator although distinguishes single use of 'then' and 'than', if 'then' is used in sentence it translates it like that was correct 'than'. Even machine like human got the same tendency or in some contries that's good?

I was reading today on Ars Technica, about the Blackmagic external GPU available in the Apple Store. It seems like a good way for me to be able to boost the performance of my MacBook Pro 13” (late 2017, no touchbar, two Thunderbolt 3 ports, i5 2.3GHz, 16Gb RAM). I got the smaller form factor for work/travel, but with the built-in Intel Iris graphics it’s hardly robust for things like Photoshop 3D or Premiere Pro.It seems like the external GPU would be a great way to give my work MacBook the juice to be able to run those heftier applications when I’m back in my office, without having to jump onto another machine. I wonder if anyone has had experience with this, and whether in particular this would be an acceptable setup for Photoshop and Premiere Pro. It seems to me that older people who started using computers a long time ago (desktops and then laptops) sometimes have a better understanding of some of the 'functions' available to share info with others via screen shots and where info is located about system specs and stuff like that.I feel kinda bad for new people who can't find that info as readily as we older people can. Hi other ACP's,My 2010 MacPro seems to have given up. This happened about 10 months ago and I managed to get it restarted after a few days and a number of tricks. (repair place and Apple said it could not be fixed then!...)Now it is happening again, and this time all the other tricks are not working. I believe it is the power supply so I ordered a power supply and will try getting it restarted when that arrives.MY Question:However, Does anyone here have a new MacBook Pro 15 with 32 GB of RAM? I am considering replacing the MacPro with a laptop if it has enough power and ram to work PS and LR and more drawing and painting applications. From the activity monitor I seem to use a lot of ram and scratch disk space.- I do not do any 3 D work, and only dabble with video. I do run a lot external drives so of course I will need a lot of adapter cables for  USB and Firewire.Anyone with any thoughts or experience?
