InDesign Link Update Error: “Error Updating Artifact”

Hi everyone,

I have been dealing with this issue in InDesign for the last few months and it's becoming really frustrating. Whenever I try to update a PDF from the Share panel, I get the following message:

"There was an error updating the artifact."

The preview just keeps loading and then fails. The only workaround that works is:

• Delete the link
• Share the link again 

This is not practical at all, especially when working on active documents. I even formatted my entire system thinking something was wrong on my end, but the issue still persists.
