The old links refered to in threads before the change over do not work. Is this just another example of poor design of a deadend street, or is there a work around?
I replied to this off topic message by Sooty1234:http://forums.adobe.com/message/1920588#1920588and, as you can see, I received a message from jiseguerrero, who hadn't been in that thread at all, saying that s/he had received my reply to Sooty1234!I have my doubts that such a thing can happen. Anyone else has seen something like this, or heard of it happening?
I've seen a couple of threads that seem to have been started in the wrong forum and later moved to the correct one - a brief note from whoever does that would be welcome to clarify. Thank you.
Is there any possible way to get a copy of the syntrillian wind chimes program? It was the best chime program and it's a shame that it's not available.

Obviously, the number of posts and the starting date are unrelated. As far as I can see, the number of posts is the number of posts during the last year, more or less, of the fair forums, with the addition of new posts in the present forums, and possibly a number of posts in the old MM forums within a certain, possibly much longer, period. My number of posts corresponds fairly well with the actual number which could be found through a simple name search; some posters have quite large numbers, such as more than 9,000 and 16,000. How is it exactly? Some of us have a rather late starting date, much later than our fist postings; for a number of us, it is round 1st August 2006. Is that because of some forum restart that somehow only affected some members, or is it a coincidence? As far as I remember, I only registered online long after starting on the applications and posting in the forums, and I have reregistered a number of times after that in connexion with reinstalling on new hard disks; p
I just submitted a test of the "Report Abuse" form, using John Joslin's post here:http://forums.adobe.com/message/1920282#1920282I assure you I picked it merely for the sake of convenience. The reason for doing this was just to obtain a screen shot of an error. The error I'm speaking of happened every other time I tried to submit an abuse report (3 or 4 times) where I had entered text into the "Additional Comments?" field. The comments in all cases was no more than a couple sentences long, and had no so-called "bad" language (unless there are "secretly bad" words like "b u c k e t' which would cause problems). The text I added to the test report indicated that it was ONLY A TEST. So, if a host looks at it, and my text comes through, they will see wording to that effect. But wouldn't you know it, this time the report went through. (Sorry, J.J.!) So I couldn't get a screen shot of the error.I don't know if the problem has been fixed overall, or if it just so happened that this time it work
Looking at my profile, I clicked on "Change Avatar" and uploaded my own photo. Now I can see it on the selection menu (after all the cartoon characters) but I can't select it. Above it it says "Pending." Pending what? How can I make it active? It is the same picture but smaller (lower resolution) than my main profile picture.
According to the forum list, this thread is marked as answered:http://forums.adobe.com/thread/423893?tstart=0However, the bar over the OP is contradictory:This Question is Answered1 "correct" answer available (10 pts) 2 "helpful" answers available (5 pts) and all posts are unmarked in terms of stars. This may be the way forward: we let the software decide and get rid of point giving.
It would be nice if there were a place in "Your stuff" that listed all of the forums you visit regularly. Clicking on "Browse forums" brings up an unwieldy list each time. And the History link is too short. Perhaps a way to "pin" forums in the bottom half of the history list would be the best way.
Here is a small, free program to view IE cookie information... in case anyone is interested in what the forums here are putting on your hard drivehttp://www.nirsoft.net/utils/iecookies.html
I replied to two different topics. I went back to the topic list page and I was surprised to NOT see the second topic at the top of the list. This is a great way for folks NOT to see a reply.
About twice a day I seem to be logged out, and have to login again. The 'Remember me' box is always checked.Does anybody else have to login all the time...?[Win XP SP3; Firefox 3.0.9]
Okay, this is very goofy. I generally have 3 tabs open for these forums. I refreshed the photography forum tab and it loaded up the forum comments page! I thought it was just me not paying attention and accidently loading up a different page, but it's happened a number of times before and today I saw it happen!Interestingly, I was going to say there isn't any rhyme or reason to it, but most times it's the photograhy forum tab that is refreshing to one of the other tabs: one time I recall it was the Lounge that loaded up and this time it's forum comments ...anyone else experiencing this strange behavior??
How do I update the Appendix from 5 to A?
I tried a using a small jpeg picture as avatar but it turned out even more blurry by the time it was approved. Then tried a clip art that was 165 X 165 pixel. When I reduced image size to 128 X128 it just got more blurry. So question is how does one get a sharp avatar? I have only CS3 to work with. Some of the pictures, and all of the clip art seem relatively sharp.
Today, for the first time, I went to 'Your Stuff' - I've seen it mentioned somewhere here in a thread.I was surprised to see that I had several Private Messages waiting. This should really be indicated somewhere more visible, i.e. as soon as I login. In fact there should be an indicator visible anywhere in the forums.
Here's a link to the Search FAQ with my response to that FAQ as a Reply:http://forums.adobe.com/thread/424191?tstart=0Anyone else want to chime in?Steve
A few minutes ago, I edited a not very recent message of mine that hadn't received a direct answer. To my surprise, the original date and time of posting of my message were changed to those of edition, leading to the absurd that all subsequent messages became older than my edited post, as this remained in its place. What's more, until a new message was posted in that thread, my edited post became the "Last post" for the software, appearing as such in the list of topics. And I was taken to it, not to the last post, if I clicked on the "time of posting" shown in the list, or the Last Post button at the top of any page of the thread. In my opinion, not a very clever or useful new feature. And I was kicked out of the forums when I was finishing writing this message

Hello; What are the exact methods for posting by e-mail? Do the Sender or From fields need to be the proper registered account? Should the quoted text of the original notification e-mail be included?I recieved a 553 error trying to make my first post by replying to a notification e-mail. Here is a snippet: The mail system <clearspace-1440542950-kWu-2-81rr@mail.forums.adobe.com>: host 10.137.24.42[10.137.24.42] said: 553 <clearspace-1440542950-kWu-2-81rr@mail.forums.adobe.com> address unknown. (in reply to RCPT TO command) I was trying to post a response to the notification for http://forums.adobe.com/message/1912169#1912169 .I had removed the quoted text of the notification. Gmail sets the "From" field of my e-mails to the proper e-mail address registered with adobe's system, but it leav
