I would appreciate Adobe providing "ACE" with recognition for his patience and certainly knowledge and professionalism while recently helping me. I was extremely and pleasantly surprised that I was not washed under the carpet upon me mudding the water last evening. Please give him a big pat on the back for me and I'll buy the pizza! Thanks ACE, Frank Dillman of frankdillman.com
This post of mine Claudio González, "Report spam or inappropriate posts here" #16, 3 Feb 2009 2:54 am started an interesting discussion on the pros and cons of posting shortened links. In an attempt of trying to keep the Spam forum for what it is, I am suggestiong that any furhter discussion be moved here. Thank you.
I first posted this in the Photoshop Mac forum, and was directed to repost here. I have 2 serious issues with usability of this forum. I wear glasses, and it is very difficult to find my visited links. 2 reasons: 1. The visited links are nearly the same color as the unvisited links. Difference is too subtle. Whose idea was this? 2. The line height between post titles in the forum display is too short. The lines need a few more pixels between them to be individually readable instead of blending into a mass of text. These are web design issues. Whoever designed this has young eyes, and doesn't wear glasses. Finding one's place in the links is a giant headache for older eyes. Someone suggested I change my browser prefs or write some custom css to make it the way I want it. I have 2 problems with that: 1. I do web design, and use my browser to preview sites. If I have a custom style sheet enabled, I don't get accurate preview. Then, it becomes a matter of having to remember to switch b

Why this new set of forums instead of carrying on where everyone expects/expected to have news about the forum changes, namely: http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3bc0fb97/ Hopefully, all the valuable information in this thread has not been forgotten: http://www.adobeforums.com/webx?128@@.3bc157dd
It wasn't obvious for me to discover this forum. It is inside a folder inside another folder called "FAQs on New Adobe Forums (2009)". And this folder does nor show a red flag when there are unread messages inside!!! This means that it may easily pass unnoticed, as happened for several days in my case.
Hi, I wish if there will be an option to enhance profile options like: --> adding fields for Hard- & Software i'm using. so any user can read it before heping instead of guessing and asking first what setup i might have. may there'll be many user who will not fill out their profile to the full, but then it's their own fault whenever it come frickling around with questions - personally i do not care about that kinda sloppy guys. --> ability to browse all my Topics and postings within my profile --> of course adding an 30x30 avatar will surely do nice. --> most important is the topic view. topics should be expanded all the time, no hidden posts or topics, each posting should be in its own frame followed by the next posting underneath with a slightly highlighted background for easier separation. --> as it's been already said, better and easier text editing, and easier way to quote other postings withing the same window. however, i can't wait for the new forum!! a
Is this the bean-counter's folly, or were actual users given preview to offer feedback? Will we be able to offer suggestions and have them seriously considered before implementation is finalized? What worries me the most is the track record for this sort of thing. Seems the web team hasn't been able to get much right when left to their own devices. How is this time going to be different? If the web team and admins have only learned ONE thing, let's hope they finally understand that MORE open dialogue with users/customers is better than less dialogue and imperious decision-making. (I feel like an abused family member being asked to stick around because the abuser has promised for the umpteenth time that they'll never do the bad thing ever again)
Just a thought . . . Is it possible for the list of topics in the Adobe User to User Forums be set up so it's in more of a table/spreadsheet format? Could they be sortable by date or alphabetical order? Thanks! Theresa Verburg
