Question

What a mess!

I just logged in to the Lightroom Forum (again!) and was given the opportunity to also entry my Adobe ID. So, I did that. After about 5 to 10 seconds of watching the url change and change and change I got an error message saying that theurl was now back to the original page! In other words, the system was looping.

Does this junk ever get tested?

I've only logged in once... between 3 different computers that have all been rebooted in the meantime. I think I'll go ahead and feel fortunate.

I have had to log in more times this past weekend than I have since the last mess was fixed.

No, it wasn't me, although I may have expressed myself not clearly/wrongly. What i wanted to say is that I had managed to post without doing the linking. I ended by been logged in as usual, with my adobeforums.com ID and password, and that's how I have posted every message afterwards.

By the way, I have a not minor question. Will we keep our usual screen names after the migration, or will our Adobe screen name be shown "next to our old messages"?

I've noticed the http vs https thing, too. You should be surfing around in here using http. https is used for the login page, but should then redirect to http. I have a note out asking for clarification.

The association of your Adobe ID with your Web Crossing ID has no effect on things today. You continue to log in here with your Web Crossing ID and password.

The account migration will come into effect when these messages are exported from here and imported into the new system. Those who associated their two IDs will have their old messages show their name next to them Those who decide to not associate/migrate the accounts will have their old messages say "Guest User" next to their messages.

In one of these threads someone said that they posted a message here as "guest." If you really did, can you give me a link to that message that says you are a guest next to it instead of showing your forum name?

    Thanks!

Just to add to the mess-iness

I hit problems on Friday, when I got home after work... those problems are still there this morning when I went to (tried to) login with my morning coffee

Have to login each time and message about secure/non-secure every time I click on a link

When I got to work... no problems at all

I know that that whatever the web programmers did on Friday completely hosed my home cookies, but did not hit the ones here at work since I wasn't here to go to Adobe... so when I get home today, I'm going to delete them all and start over

Hopefully, deleting all my home cookies and starting fresh will fix the problems I'm having there... 'cause it is annoying as all get out to have to jump through all the screen hoops just to read a question
