Very clean, very nice.
Nice options for paragraph & text... attaching files, list goes on.
Hopefully and especially new users will behave and do not screw up the clean look with bunch of useless smilies, signatures and useles stuff.

My Fear: If possible, please Adobe keep people away from using signatures of ANY kind, it would just mess up the enire clean structure of a thread.
I'm really not interested in nonsense pictures or funny text footers - move this completely to the profiles where people can mess up in their own flat -_-

Thanks a bunch for your hard work. can't wait...

    >i see a huge potential for the whole community.

    potential to alienate everyone.

    ok, sorry, it's beta.
but i see a huge potential for the whole community.
especially the ability to add directly media content to your posts for easier explaination of a given problem.
also having a more flexible profile is great for posting Hard & Software information which prevents asking a user for setup over and over again.

The History option could be a little better for navigating content like last post. Adding feeds just for the actual thread also would be awesome.

Did not tested every little corner, but the fist few steps are promising.

etc. i can clearly see the benefits of the new forum.

    >In my book that's a deal breaker.

it's certainly not a facilitator. i see many threads not seeing their full potential because of that.

Having to scroll though endless posts to try and find where you left off is the dumbest thing. In my book that's a deal breaker.

The main page of the preview SAYS that it is a test... anything posted is going to be thrown away at the end of the test

How is that not a Beta?

As far as speed... I will GUESS that one computer, not a server farm, is running the preview

I will also GUESS that the real thing will have more hardware resources and will be faster

I would prefer everything be moved to webx 'cause I like the look here... but as long as the new forum has the same speed as (usually) here, I can live with the new software

I thought the posted sample was the "Beta"?

    speed is #1.

the ability to jump into a thread at a "new for you" point would be gravy!

Performance keeps deteriorating in the new forum preview. Hitting the Reply button, waiting for the text box to appear fully, typing (thick molasses in winter right there) and posting takes an eternity.

The look of the new forum, though vastly inferior to this one, I could live with. But the performance issues make it unusable ,

The "new forum" did not even reached Beta!
So keep people at Adobe posted about the snaps and flaws that are bothering you.

Most important thing to mention at the very moment: the system has to work, bulletproof.

The more constructive the requests are, the more it will become more or less paint giving a nice contrasty picture.

as long as the creators do not use black or red background with white letters, i'll be fine ;)

PS: one thing is sure: Adobe need to get faster bandwidth! It's still a mess -_-
