I have multiple projects that all compile and deliver webhelp where the TOC and Search work just fine.  I had one old project that was a tripane (top header, side contents, right main body) which I basically took all the necessary parts and put them into the right main body part, then used that as my start-up topic.Compiled help works perfectly. The TOC and search appear on the left and work just like my other projects.  When I compile webhelp, the output appears normal but the TOC on the left is empty and the search will not display any results (also empty).  It looks normal like my other projects, just missing content like it trying to display it in a frame that doesn't exist anymore.Is there a way to see where the TOC and Search output is going?  I have clicked on every possible page, option, box in RH.  I also tried making new project windows with no change.  This is very strange.  One extra bit, IE will display the TOC but no search content for t

Hi all, I am using RH7 and would like to insert the date that each topic was last modified into my global template for my project. I have seen that there is a Fields and Variables dialog that seems to do what I want, that is I can insert a Date field and it is automatically updated when the topic is opened. The problem is, I want the field to only update when a topic is saved, and it should not be the same date for every topic (I don't want Topic A's date to be updated when I save Topic B for example). Does anyone know if what I want to achieve is possible? Regards, darkagn

After ~5 years of not working with any HAT, I began a new position on 3/28/2016 and am giving the RH 2015 trial a spin. I'm really excited by what I see and have been able to do thus far.I have 3 “entities” to write about and I have created 3 pages, one page per entity.On each of these overview pages, I have this first sentence: |This section describes how to enter and manage [entity].|I’ve defined each [entity] as a user defined variable. I hard coded each page with this sentence and added a reference to the User Defined Variable and then generated the output. Works awesome. Now, I’m going ‘down’ a level. What I want to figure out is how to make | “This section describes how to enter and manage” |be a snippet. I want it to be a snippet because when I write a better sentence, I don’t have to make the same change on each of these overview pages. Eventually, there will be 19 overview pages.Does anyone else structure their content like this? What I want to avoid is making multiple manual

I recently upgraded from Robohelp 8 to RoboHelp 15.  Some of the users trying to view the project in a browser, IE, are seeing the message below with the FlashHelp files from RoboHelp 15. I regenerated the project using Robohelp 8 and they are able to see it with out an issue. Is there a specific setting that needs to be adjust for my project to work using RoboHelp 15? Is there a minimal Flash version requirement for users to see the project?

ROBOHELP 7 I created a TOC and chose "Create TOC pages for mid-topic links (bookmarks)". The TOC is created, but all the bookmarks in the toc have underscores_between_every_word instead of word spaces. Why does ROBOHELP use underscores in place of word spaces for the bookmarks? Is there a workaround for this? Thank you!

Hi, All,It's nice that you can auto-generate a TOC using bookmarks, but as we all know, bookmarks cannot have spaces, so you have to do a lot of hand editing to the TOC, which is a real pain.Does anybody have an easy fix for this problem?~Margaret Beckerwww.rhino3d.com

Hi AllI'm reasonably new to RH (using 2015). I've got all the basics down but now I'm trying to improve navigation. When I auto-generate my TOC, I get all the topic pages, but I'd like to add further links within the page. From reading the incredibly sparse documentation, it seems I create bookmarks in the topic and then leave "Create TOC pages for mid-topic links (bookmarks)" checked, when I auto-create the TOI clicked to the left of my heading and selected insert bookmark, then I auto-generate the TOC but I get none of the bookmarks in the TOC. Have I missed a step? Isn't there a way (like in Word) where you have it generate TOC from heading styles (e.g. Heading1,2 and 3)?Is there a decent tutorial on bookmarks and hyperlinks?ThanksMark

RH 2015Though probably not RH2015 specific, I'm trying to delete a baggage file (.chm) which is listed in a project.It has been added to the baggage list once from a subproject.The subproject has been deleted for some reason and the link to the file got broken.Now when I right click on the baggage file I do not see an option to delete the file. The delete option is grayed out.How can I get rid of this entry?--Christoph

I'm trying to generate a responsive HTML5 output, but every time I try it says "Failed to generate responsive HTML5 output. See compilation output for details." It will say this on loop until Robohelp crashes. Compilation output just says to be sure I've selected a template (which I have done), and that an internal error has occurred.. I'm using the latest version of Robohelp 12. I have one book and 4 topics. Responsive HTML5 preprocessor 12.0.2.384. Windows 10 64 bit.

Hello, I recently installed the 11 Robohelp, and updated projects he had done in Robohelp x5. Previously I could use images captured by capturing images of Windows because now every time I try to use these images or any other image editor, to put it in the topic, there is a loss of quality and color distortion. If I use the "Insert / Image" option, the image is imported correctly. But I have thousands of images to use and this option is totally impractical, since the tool was purchased to further streamline the documentation process systems.Already on another machine I installed the tool, the problem did not occur. But the operating system is the same, with the same resources and the same updates. Has anyone experienced a similar situation?Thank you in advance for your help!!!

RH2015 | WebHelpIt's possible to apply a single master page to all topics at compile-time, but what I'd really like to do is apply different master pages to different topics at compile-time. For example, a master page for the home page and others for different sections. I know I can apply different master pages at topic-level, but I don't want see the headers and footers in the topics when I'm authoring. Alternatively, is it possible to hide the header and footers in the topic pane?ThanksJonathan

RH2015 | WebHelpAnyone know if there's a workaround for RH stripping out divs from user-defined variables? For some reason you can code divs in the "HTML source code view" but as soon as you switch to "Design view" and back, it strips them out, leaving just the text.ThanksJonathan

Hello,when trying to install the Robohelp 2015 trial version, I get a message saying that installation of interface was insuccessful as it is impossible to register the configuration panel (original message in French: Echec de l'installation de l'interface - Akamai Net Session: Impossible d'enregistrer le panneau de configuration). After I download the exe, installation does not start automatically, so I wait 5-6 minutes to make sure download is complete (about 10MB) and then I double-click to execute the exe. Installation seems to start OK, but then it is interrupted and I view the previously described error message. I am installing on Windows 7.Thank you in advance for your help, Rosa

When we upgraded from RH11 to RH2015 the upgraded project didn't have any of the topics in it. Is there a way to get the topics to appear without having to import them after the upgrade?

I have Tech Suite 3. If I start a new RoboHelp project and try to import or link Frame files, RoboHelp tries for a while, then I get an Out of Memory error and the program crashes. I opened one of the sample projects and was able to link to one of my frame files without any problem, so it seems to be an issue with creating something new. Any suggestions?

Hi. I am new to RH and we are attempting to use CBTs to identify which user groups will have access to certain online help. I understand the purpose of applying CBTs at the Topic or Content-level, but when attempting to applying CBTs at the Topic level, I was also given the option to add it to the TOC.  Can someone explain why I would apply it at both levels the TOC and Topic level?  Are there any GOOD resources out there that explain CBTs better? Everything I find just says "apply the CBT" which is frustrating!

I downloaded Robohelp 2015 the other day. A company from which we receive some help projects is using RH 11 while we are at RH 9.To stay in sync and to be able to work on their project (we have to extract some portions and build our own HTMLHelp project/files)we need keep up to RH11.I found that the project build window in the left column (to build a Microsoft HTMLHelp file) is not there. There seem to be an item Microsoft HTML Help in the ribbon bar though. But despite from rearrangements of elements in a new look and feel (possibly WPF or sth.) I cannot see any advantage of RH2015 over RH 11 or RH 9.And I don't think any improvements have been made on MS HTML Help generation since it was an obsolescent model for years anyway (but still being used in many places).--Christoph

Hello,When I create a new topic. I enter the topic title which is duplicated as the file name which is fine. I expected the topic title to appear at the title in the topic itself, hopefully before the Body section. However, it doesn't. When I preview the topic, the word Title is displayed ahead of the title I entered in the Body section.Am I doing something wrong?Thanks,MDawn

I'm using RH 11 and Word 2013.When I want to use Word as my editor I go to my topic list pane, right-click on the topic and choose "Edit with | Microsoft Word" from the appearing context menu.Word then opens up and displays the message"Sorry can't open the file ... bla... bla...bla...Details: DTD is prohibited, Location Line 2. Column 9This makes absolutely no sense to me.Any help would be very much appreciatedAm I doing somthing wrong?Can I fix this and how?Thanking youDuran

Hello there,We have two RH projects that are we are currently testing to publish to a new server.  Each project has a different IP address.One project is successfully published but the other isn't.I have tried publishing the project that works to both IP addresses and they were both successful. I am lost as to what could be wrong with a project isn't publishing.  Are there any suggestions that I can try to get this one project to publish?

(FM12 with RH11)In FM, the s-Screen condition is applied to a table row. Not only the content, but the entire row.In FM, testing with conditional expressions produces the expected result. A condexp with "or s-Screen" allows the row to appear. Others cause the row to be hidden.In RH, the controls are set to respect the FM condition settings:Project > Import > FrameMaker Document > Edit > Other Settings > Select Apply FrameMaker Conditional Text Build ExpressionSingle-source Layout > WebHelp > Properties > Content Categories > _Default_ > Conditional Build Expression > NoneIn the RH output, the table row with the s-Screen condition does not appear. I have a screen shot of the main screen of the software. I'd like to outline sections of the main screen using image map. Then I would like for the user to be able to click on the section on the image map and be linked to the specific bookmark in the topic.Is this possible?Thanks,MDawn
