I want to look at it to see if it helps me design a cover and cannot find it in the project anywhere. Thanks,Matt
Hi All,With RoboHelp 11 and Word 10, I am trying to emulate an existing cover page for our company, which has a gray background image and a blue text box with the document title and version number. I created a topic with the background image, then placed a positioned text box over it. I added blue shading to the text box and the white lettering for the title and version. When I generate Word, the text box and text inside it do not show up in the Word output. Is there a way to get HTML > Insert features like text boxes to appear in the Word output? Thanks,Matt
In my Word output, the page numbering skips some page numbers, so I see 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9...it skips seemingly random page numbers throughout the rest of the document. I looked in the sample SalesBuilder2 project for answers and their Word output has the same issue. Has anyone else seen this and is there a known cause/resolution?Thanks,Matt
HiI am using FM11 and RH10 as part of TCS4.I have inserted an image in FrameMaker which has the file path Interactivities\First Interactivity\tab1.swf (shown in the screenshot). When I import to RoboHelp the path is lost. This is generally not an issue as the file gets imported and published as well. But in my case, I have three different SWFs named, tab1.swf, tab2,swf, and tab3.swf in three folders First Interactivity, Second Interactivity, and Third Interactivity respectively. The content of all three SWF files are being called from an XML file, which has the same name of tabs.xml. Now, when we publish the RoboHelp file, since all the three SWFs get copied/published to the single folder, that throws all my calls to the XML out of gear. So, is there a way I can retain the file path when the file is imported? Thanks in advance for your help.Sreekanth
Hi all!I have an html documentation generated through doxygen and shaped as an online help system.I would like to import this documentation into a program that would allow me editing in a user-friendly, non-code-based environment, and that would keep the original style formats and Javascript-based options.Has someone ever used RoboHelp for such a purpose? Is there any chance it could work? Thanks in advance for your answers.
I can understand the benefits and how these tools are used. Now i want to understand how there are interlinked. The steps to publish RoboHelp output file to RoboHelp server is fine. How Adobe AIR can be intergrated. is real-time feedback is enabled without adobe AIR?
Hi All,If anyone can assist me with this, it will be greatly appreciated. How can I add an image next to the Topic Title . For example, in my help content I want to highlight the "NEW" content by putting an image next to the Topic Title. For exampleHelp Content Topic 1 next to this I want an image called NEW Topic 2etcThanks in advance.Shéba
We have several different Excel templates that we would like our users to have access to. I would like to create a list of available templates from which the user can simply click on the linked template name, then download the Excel file. How would I accomplish this? Thanks in advance.
We are using RH10 and building nightly with a perl script that calls RH.exe. Recently we noticed the process time went from two hours to six, and the number of files in wghdata in a couple of the projects multiplied and became much, much larger. Many of them ballooned from 30-50kb to 2-2.5mb. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there anything in the updated .js files in the recent hot fix that might account for this?
Hi,I create a WebHelp with RH 9. It is a new project which was created in RH 9. The text contains words in bold (like this). Some short lines (style Normal like the text) are also bold. These lines are not headlines, but they should be highlighted in bold (see below). To add bold I use the bold button of RH. When I generate the WebHelp and open it in Firefox (currently version 11), then words within a text and the short bold line look different ?! The single word appears extra bold and the line appears normal bold. The genereated HTML looks like:for a word: <span style="font-weight: bold;"><b>word in bold</b></span>for the short line: <p style="font-weight: bold;">line in bold</p>When I switch to the HTML view in RH it looks like:for a word: <span style="font-weight: bold;">word in bold</span>for the short line: <p style="font-weight: bold;">line in bold</p>Why does the generation procedure handle bold things different? And why
I need to update a user guide I created but the project file was either deleted or misplaced. Am I able to somehow convert the HTML5 output and reload back into RH or at this point will I need to create an entirely new project and just copy/paste the pages manually? Running version 10 by the way.
Hi folks,We had quite a time getting RoboHelp for Word to work on our new Windows 7 machines. The highest supported combination (of RoboHelp version and Word version) that we were aware of from the postings on this site did not work. Long story.Anyway, we ended up reinstalling RoboHelp 7 and Word 2007. We have Word 2010 on our machines for other things, but we use 2007 exclusively for RoboHelp. We still save our files as .docs instead of .docxs. (This was a decision made long ago and there was a reason for it, I think, but I don't know it now. 😛 I'm just mentioning it on the off chance that it's relevant.)We thought all our problems were over - the help seemed to be compiling fine - BUT: the Search tab does not work on Windows 7 machines. Comes up completely blank. The same help file, including the Search tab, will work fine on XP machines.Any advice? Thanks in advance - Sandy
HiI am using RH10 as part of TCS4.Is it possible to assign PgUp and PgDn keys as shortcuts to navigate between topics in the TOC? I have created the browse sequence. Sreekanth
Hi all,We are using TCS 5 to link FrameMaker books to RoboHelp and have invested a lot of effort and expense to create a custom CSS that supports HTML 5 and responsive web design. We have all our FM tags mapped to the style sheet, so that we can use automapping. Our CSS is working well, but whenever I regenerate the help, RoboHelp replaces our style sheet in the generated project with something that looks like this fragment:#rh_default_topic_placeholder_id p.TableBulletCompact::before { content:\25A0\00A0; &nbs
Am currently running Robohelp 10 and using Microsoft Office 2013. Whenever I want to review the printed Documentation Single Source Layout, I receive an error that a supported version of Microsoft Office does not exist. It recommends Office 2000 or newer. Is there a patch that will allow me to use this feature with Windows 8 and Office 2013?
I have just upgraded from RH10 to RH11. Upon upgrading a project and publishing a Word document in RH11 I see that the index entries are now missing the tab between the item and the page number. This is how the Word document looked in RH10This how it now appears in RH11. No changes have been made to any of the previous RH10 settings (i.e CSS or Word Template). The Word template still contains the tab setting for the Index style but the actual tab is not being inserted when the document is generated. Am I missing a setting somewhere or is this a bug? Thanks,Chris
Using Robohelp 10. Would like to alter print layout only from the desktop layout. All looks nice in web layout, however when pages are printed, the header overflows to the second line and covers up page title and body text. Can this be edited separately as a template? If not, how can i fix it so that i still see what I want to see on the screen, but have error free printing?
Why do you have to have TOC and Index tabs together? Why can't you have one without the other?
I use RoboHelp HTML 9 and have been having issues with generated WebHelp in IE 11. The TOC was totally blank and the Search tab looked fine but did not function. Everything worked fine in Firefox. After much experimenting and online research in these forums and elsewhere, I have been able to get the TOC to display properly in IE 11 (and Firefox) but the fix has caused the Search tab to stop functioning as per this other forum post RH9 Webhelp Search function is not working properly.I need to have BOTH TOC and Search displayed and functioning properly but in order to get the TOC displayed properly I had to change the Preferred Format setting to "Pure HTML" and, according to the post mentioned above, that is what messes up the Search function. Is there a solution that will allow both TOC and Search to function properly? Here is a summary of the steps I have taken to get to this point:Tested WebHelp output from two different projects of my own as well as the Salesbuilder starter project -
I'm almost certain I know the answer to this, but need to confirm once and for all. We're on RH 9 and we're planning on generating HTML Help (and create a link in CQ5 to the chm). Is there any way possible that we could measure the number of times the chm was accessed/downloaded? Or is all this just available in RoboServer?
Hi all,Greetings for the dayI am created a new CSS in Robohelp 9. I have also created a new template in Word 2010. The style sets for different information elements like (Heading, bullets, body text, ) are more or less same between the CSS and the new templates. I am also able to map the .css styles to Word template when I am converting from RH to Word as I am getting the necessary option in the drop-down list. However, when the output is generated, the bullet, the numbered list and the body text is not converting at all. The body text works sometimes. However, the numbered list and bullet list is coming out as images. If anybody knows the solution, I can share the .css and Word template. Thanks in advance.Regards,Parag Deb
I am using Robohelp 9 on my Windows 7 64-bit machine. But when I try to import MS Word 2010 document, I get the following error message:"The Import Word Document Wizard cannot locate a supported version of Microsoft Word. Please install Microsoft Word 2000 or newer."What is the solution and why is this happening?
Can the XML Output get published to CQ5? We're trying to house our online help files on CQ5 and we'd like to use WebHelp but we're hitting some roadblocks with the HTML files. I think CQ5 supports XML and I haven't found any posts anywhere explaining how to publish this type of RH output. When I generate XML Help, the output is a bunch of code. How does this type of output work? Do I hand over files to our developer like with WebHelp or is their coding that needs to be done on our part? I haven't found much info on XML. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
I have looked through the documentation, and it seems that every "possibility" to call either a search term or a HelpID/CHSID for my documentation is to use some sort of API.Is there a way to call the search function and CHSIDs directly by only typing a URL in a browser (or link from another page, or from an email, etc etc)?I'd actually like to know for all 3 outputs I am potentially going to be using: WebHelp, WebHelp Pro (RoboHelp Server 9) and HTML5, as I'm not sure yet which form it will take at the software release. Thanks!
First off, this is a continuation from a thread that was previously started on the CHM message board: Re: Measure the number of times the chm was downloaded? that has now developed into a WebHelp issue.I've read that housing WebHelp on CQ5 is most likely not do-able, however, not impossible. I've successfully uploaded WebHelp onto CQ5 and the help opens up beautifully to the start page, HOWEVER, when clicking on every other topic, we get this on our pages:All the files and folders are present in the DAM (Digital Assets Manager in CQ5). Is it the way CQ5 reads the help the reason we're getting this error? Can anyone think of a workaround/solution to this?
