Hi, I am using RoboHelp 10 to generate WebHelp files that are going to be viewed locally. From other discussions, it appears I need to select "Mark of the Web" when generating this output, and indeed some links don't work when MOTW is unchecked. However, when it IS checked, all the content in the left pane disappears -- the TOC, Search, Index, and Glossary. I am using Internet Explorer. (The files will not open in the other browser that's installed, Chrome.) Any ideas?Thank you,Meg
Can someone give me the steps in creating a chm file type in robohelp 9?
I made a post a year ago where I solved problems in a project where we could not save topics in Design view. We have to go to HTML view before a topic will save. In the past we found that the problem was corrupted and or blank User Variables. This project only has 1 variable now and when we upgraded from RH9 to RH10, our problem is back. No other issues exist in this project ... so far ... that we can se as a result from the RH10 upgrade. Has anyone else had this problem and or have their solution? We have other projects like this one that have no trouble at all. This project was created about 8 years ago and has propagated through many versions of RH where our other projects have only been through 1 or 2 upgrades. Maybe some legacy junk is messing this one up?Thanks,dv
RH10 | WebHelpWe've recently implemented RoboSource Control and I'm hoping someone can tell me how to copy a project that it is already under its control. With each version of our software we need to duplicate the previous version's projects so that we can use them as the basis of the current version.I had been told that I could open a project from version control to a different folder, remove it from version control, and then add it back into version control to a different folder. This, in theory, should give a duplicate copy. However, the removing from version control bit deletes the original project from version control, not the copy. You then have add both projects back into version control to their respective folders, which is not desirable. Is there an easier (or correct) way to do this?ThanksJonathan
How to include the reviewing date in document whic will help to allocate the next review date for that document ?
When will Robohelp 10 support importing documents from Word 2013? If Adobe does not add this functionality, my organization will have to switch to Doc-to-Help.
RoboHelp 10 / Webhelp / IE 10We've encountered the known issue that's been discussed in multiple threads regarding the pop-ups for Index entries with multiple topics not displaying correctly in IE 10.I've tried the various 'fixes' that have been suggested, including editing the font values in the skins as well as in the whibody file, but nothing seems to change the behavior. Is there any way of just turning off the pop-up window and forcing RH to display multiple entries in the Index window itself?
Has anyone heard of a pending release for RoboHelp 11? My company has a tendency to upgrade to the latest and greatest Microsoft updates with that software and Adobe has a tendency to be behind us in that aspect - understandably. So, for example, I am running Windows 8 64-bit, with Office 2013, SharePoint 2013, and currently we are using Visual Studio 2012, but should have 2013 by the end of the year. I currently am running RoboHelp 9 and don't want to upgrade to 10 to find out in a few months or so that 11 is out.
Is Robohelp 7 compatible with Windows 8 64-bit?
One of my customers is complaining that the help contents will scroll out of view when the window is resized. Is there a way to anchor the position while the window is resized?
I've been having various problems with RoboHelp 9 lately, most of them now solved. One still remains, however. In my user account, the design editor won't open for our own projects (it does open for RH's demo projects). Since it works fine in my admin account, I thought it was a rights issue, but I've given "everyone" full rights, and it's still happening.I've tried renaming the .cpd file, but that didn't help.Trying to fix the other problems meant giving Adobe access to my system and letting them fiddle with the registry and reinstalling programs. (RH9 has been uninstalled and re-installed.) My RoboHelp is part of the TCS, which doesn't help.Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.Marion
I have a RoboHTML 10 project on a local drive that was working just fine.I tried to move the project to a network location. Things seemed to be going well, until I tried adding a new snippet file - when I tried saving the new snippet, I received the following error message:The snipped was created OK and I could use it in my topics just fine. But when I checked out the rhsnippet.apj file, it was truncated at the end:I copied my project back to my local drive, renamed the rhsnippet.apj file, and opened RoboHTML - the rhsnippet.apj file was recreated, and it was no longer truncated. The local rhsnippet.aps file is about 88 KB while the network version of the file is 76.0 KB. I have 770 snippets and ~4k topics in my project.I would like to have my RoboHTML project reside on a network folder, but I'm not willing to trust it while this error message appears. Please let me know if there's something I can do to get this to work... thanks.
Is it possible to generate WebHelp with more than one TOC in a single compile? We will be bridging versions in our software over the next few months.Looking for a way for our clients to get to the content for one of two versions from the same landing page during our Beta period.Click here for Version 10 Display the Version 10 TOCClick here for Version 11 Display the Version 11 TOCOr would welcome other suggestions for how to approach this. Thanks.
Hello,I am attempting to move a project out of FrameMaker and into Robohelp for good. I will no longer be providing printed documentation for this resource so I'd like to manage the content (edit, update, etc.) entirely inside of Robohelp. To prevent the risk of updating the linked files and losing any edits that were performed in Robohelp, I'd like to somehow break the link bewteen the Robohelp project and the FrameMaker document so that I can work with the content the same as if it had originated in Robohelp.
Works fine in Firefox. I am desperate for a fix because we want to deliver this updated Help with our product to new client. Is there a fix for this?Follow up: We decided to put the Help on our server and have clients point there. It works ok but there was some odd behavior. On their own, the TOC, Index, and Search all worked as expected. However, if I used the Index and navigated around, then the contents of the TOC and Search would be blank. Likewise if I used the Search and navigated around, then the contents of the TOC and Index would be blank. I had to refresh the screen (F5 or Refresh in the browser window) to get them back. Can anyone suggest a fix?
I am using RoboHelp 10, and when I try to add my project to version control, the only available option is RoboHelp SharePoint Connector. I do not have RoboSource Control listed as an option. Does this mean RoboSource Control was not installed? Where can I look (what directory) for it to see if it was installed? (I am not the administrator for my machine, so I did not install RoboHelp myself.)
I have a RoboHelp 9 project that I left open on my computer overnight and microsoft updates ran causing my computer to restart. When I try to open my RoboHelp 9 project, i get the following error:Open project was cancelled or the application was unable to load database for "C:\CODE\HELP\HELP.CPD"How can I correct the CPD file without starting over?
I have a simple robohelp 9 project for less than 10 pages. I publish a webhelp layout to the web and my robohelp site get's picked up as malware by security essentials and by google. How do I fix this?Microsoft Security Essentials says me robohelp layout is infected with IFrameRef.Ex.Google doesn't tell me why i was picked up, just that my site is infected so browsers such as firefox and chrome get warnings before letting a user into my site.Thanks.
I have a Webhelp project using a custom CSS file. In the CSS, I've specified the img tag to have certain settings (1px,solid,gray). However, when I look in the Design view at a topic that has an image included, there is no border. When I check the HTML view, it shows this inline style: Border="0". If I delete that deprecated style setting, then check the Design view again, the border styles set in the CSS file apply. But as soon as I click back to the HTML view, that same inline style has been inserted again.Has anyone seen this behavior and found a fix?I've checked for other img or border settings, but can't find anything. Please tell me that I don't have to set the inline styles that I want to use for every single image. Thanks!
This is in reference to the left pane -> Index/Search section. By default, these sections show a black colour horizontal line after some pre-defined content. I would like to change the colour of this horizontal line. Please advice whether it is possible to do the same.Thank you,Harinder Sehgal
Is it possible to modify Search from a wepage so that its results are a short list? For example, if someone is searching for instructions that involve the letter N (Ctrl + N), if 'n" is searched, not every topic that contains a word with the letter n shows up in the results? Thanks.
Hi, all,I'm trying to rename files in RoboHelp HTML 10. I select the file in the topic list, right click, select Properties, and change the file name on the General tab. After clicking OK, the Output view displays and shows the progress. However, this seems to create an infinite loop as the rename process somehow creates a bookmark over and over recursively. For example, foo.htm#bar becomes foo.htm#bar#bar, foo.htm#bar#bar#bar, foo.htm#bar#bar#bar, etc., quickly exceeding RoboHelp's limits on file names. The same thing happens when renaming the file external to RoboHelp and importing it.The project is in version control, and the topic in quesion has snippets and hyperlinks that refer to a bookmark in that snippet (e.g., href="#bar"). Is there any solution to avoid this from happening? Here's a screenshot of the end result of an import. Thanks in advance.
Hello everyone!I've inserted *.swf movies into my topics, and pubished a browser based help. The issue I'm having is the videos stay their default size no matter how I resize the browser. I have edited the HTML to <object id="object1" data="Navigate A.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" style="border: none;" width="100%" height="100%"><param name="movie" value="Navigate A.swf" /><param name="quality" value="high" /></object>however when I do this the movies shrink to a super small size, and don't resize at all. Any ideas on how to get my movies to scale when a user resizes their browser? The main reason I need to do this is to accomodate for users' different screen resolutions. Thanks in advance!Jerry
