I'm trying to have a thumbnail link to the large image within a slideshow on the detail page. The detail page consists of one large image, a recordCount, and recordset paging which correctly allows me to click "previous" and "next" to view the other images within the album. However, I can't figure out how to pass the necessary information from the thumbnail page to the detail page so that it will jump to the correct record/image within the recordset. I tried passing the "idProduct", but then it only shows the one record/image so I can't use the previous/next buttons to view the other record. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Lori

hi everyone, I am using the cfdirectory tag to list contents of a folder, however, i can style the font etc etc, but no matter I do the page seems to want to list the files in a 'centred' fashion, which looks untidy - is there something i am missing or a tag that should be added to cfdirectory? many thanks in advance

How do you write a insert query to insert all the values of a cfselect (multiple) that have been selected? I want to insert the session username with the value of the cfselect in a two column table. Thanks! James

Ok, what I am trying to do is create as many movie clips as I need and then access those movie clips using string values. These string values are stored in an array and coincide with a given movie clips instance name. Check out the following code: I think my problem is that Flash is trying to call movie clip methods on a string instance. I'm not sure how to type cast in Flash, or even if it is possible, but how would I access the strings as movie clips?

iv made 2 texts 1 saying "with music" and one "without music" i then converted them into symbols(buttons) and did the over, down, hit on both but when i try giveing it a comand i get this "Scene=Scene 1, Layer=Image, Frame=3: Line 1: Statement must appear within on handler" i entered "gotoAndPlay(5);" i wanted it so when clicked it will go to frame 5 and play the music. and the other button to go straight to frame 6 to therefore miss the comand to start playing the music. So I'm using some code for eye rotation that follows mouse movement. This code only works when I output for Flash 5 or lower. Does anyone understand the math enough to help me with coding in Actionscript 2.0 for Flash 8? Thanks in advance. Dave I have a graphic and instance name for eye and eye2. // eye1 rotation a = eye._y-_ymouse; b = eye._x-_xmouse; angleA = Math.atan2(a, b); degrees = angleA/(Math.pi/180); setProperty ("eye", _rotation, degrees); // eye2 rotation a2 = eye2._y-_ymouse; b2 = eye2._x-_xmouse; angleA2 = Math.atan2(a2, b2); degrees2 = angleA2/(Math.pi/180); setProperty ("eye2", _rotation, degrees2);

I am sure this is very easy. I have tried a couple of different things with no luck. What I want to do it. When you move your mouse over a certain area of the swf file a see through box apears (alpha at 40%) so you can still read what is under neath it and when you click it takes you to an external website.

Hello! What I am trying to do is create a query page for my users that allows them to enter one search string (var=#string#) and then click checkboxes that correspond to the field values that they want to search for the string in (var=#paramSelect#). Unfortunately I haven't been able to make this work correctly and was hoping that someone here might be able to help me with this. So far I have tried the following methods:

Hi. I have a input textfield that is let say 100 px width. Is there any way to limit the number of character so that they fit in the field. I don't want to use maxChars since i want to use the whole field end diffrent characters has diffrent width. Hope you understand what I mean. /Antewik

Hi all I am fairly new to Flash so bear with me. I have been learning Flash and on a whim thought downloading a template to do a small project for a client would help me learn some more. We it did! It helped me to learn all the wrong ways to to things. Well, not wrong but seemingly WAY outdated ways. Anyway, I managed to get the contact/form page running yesterday with VERY simple script to get it running until I could go back and add more later. I uploaded it and the PHP file and was so happy I had finally made it work I received emails with everything intact and information passed from PHP to me via email. YAY! Then went in to change a few things on the page and now the form doesn't work at all. The code and form worked so I am guessing it's something I did on the FLA that has it wacky. If someone would let me know how to upload that "cause it's a crappy HUGE template FLA I will do that as well.

Help! i make a quiz page but i cant make captivate auto generate a results slide. why? if you cant answer this question, please direct me to someone that can. thanks!

I can retrieve the folder path for the directory attribute of <cfdirectory> using GetDirectoryFromPath. In newer versions GetDirectoryFromPath has the directory attribute but that is not available in CF5. What would be an easy way to extract just the folder name in CF5? I have a script that is accessed by different sections of the site and I want to be able to send people back to the area they came from initially.

I'm publishing to WebHelp using RoboHelp for Word. I'm getting random spaces breaking up words throughout the manual. In other words the text looks like this... This is a sa mple sentence. Has anyone come across this before or know of a solution?

I've attempted to use trim() im my SQL statement but It throws an error saying its not a valid function. This isnt the statement but this is the context im using it in. <cfquery datasource="#datasources.DATADSN#"> INSERT INTO dbo.People (Christian) <cfif IsDefined("FORM.Christian") AND #FORM.Christian# NEQ ""> trim('#FORM.Christian#') <cfelse> NULL </cfif> </cfquery> If you cant use it at this point, where can you use it?

Any guess why my tables print about 3pt left of the actual page margin when I run the SSL Doc output using Style mapping. The text will be at "0" or the margin and then the table will start further to the left, which is past the actual page margin. I can't find anything in the css styles. Is this normal?

Hi all, I have a problem with recordset paging using a recordset from a stored procedure in MSSQL 2000. The page is working fine without the recordset paging functionality. I.e. it returns a recordset and displays the information on screen as expected. However, as soon as I add this functionality in, the page returns an error from the database server stating that a parameter was not supplied to the stored procedure. I suspect that this could be to do with the Requery command in the function. Has anyone come across this problem before and any ideas how to get around it? Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance. Ben.

Hello everyone- I'm trying to use a CFINPUT/FILE field in a CFFORM: <CFINPUT TYPE="file" NAME="scanArticleLocation" class="sans9"> Clicking on the Browse button appears to populate the text input box with a valid path, but when the field "scanArticleLocation" is passed on by the form, I get this: <INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME="ScanArticleLocation" VALUE="C:\CFusionMX7\runtime\servers\coldfusion\SERVER-INF\temp\wwwroot-tmp\neotmp12527.tmp"> Wether I click on the form's "Browse" button to specify the file's path, or manually enter it, the result is the same (only the .tmp file name changes). Anyone ever come across this one? Thanks in advance... - Tom Tedeschi

I have the attached code in my Application.cfc. But when I try to open my index.cfm to test my header and footer I get the following error: Element COMPANYNAME is undefined in REQUEST. My index.cfm contains the following code: <cfoutput> Hello!!!! Welcome to #REQUEST.companyName# </cfoutput> What am I missing? Thanks in advance.

I am creating an activity that involves a drag and drop activity. I have defined dragItems and dragTargets. The dragTargets have rollover events that are triggered when the cursor is over them. However, this obviously is never triggered when I am dragging a dragItem on top of them. Is there a workaround to this that generates the same visual confirmation that the cursor is currently over a dragTarget when I am dragging a dragItem? thanx in advance

bigString to Big String - how do I detect index of upper case? Is there a way to detect, insert space and replace the upper case letters in a string?

<select name="workshop10" size="1"> <option value="" <cfif workshop10 IS ''>selected</cfif>>Choose One <option value="Private" <cfif workshop10 IS 'Private'>selected</cfif>>Private <option value="Semi_Private" <cfif workshop10 IS 'Semi_Private'>selected</cfif>>Semi_Private <option value="Workshop" <cfif workshop10 IS 'Workshop'>selected</cfif>>Workshop</option> </select> The above code works well but in mySQL the option values are not accepted while updating the DB unless the option values have a underscore character included. See above (Semi_Private). I would prefer not to have to use the underscore character as this leads to a lot of coding to remove this character on output. Does anyone know why I cannot just use (Semi Private) as an option value and I am not well versed with mySQL. I have the datatype as varchar(255).

Is there a way - short of hindreds of lines of cfic cfelseif statemements, to turn numbers into words?

Is there a way to set up a "survey" (I am not sure what it is exactly called, so) to see how useful help topics are? For example, there are sites like amazon.com and possibly here too(not sure) that the reader can “vote” on a topic and its useful or helpful-ness. I would like this function as a beginner roboHelp developer at work. I want to say something like “was this helpful to you?” Yes No And it will tally up yeses and No’s.. or something like Rate this topic 1-5 stars… etc If there is a way to do this in HTML, let me know that as well as I can use that in my other job for their website. I mainly want to know if roboHelp had this kind of functionality Thanks; David

Hi. I am generating printed documentation of chapters in my help file that contain popups. When I check the printed documentation, it only contains the topics contained in the table of contents - none of the popups were included. The particular chapter that I am printing, contains images of forms. I have defined each of the fields in the image as hotspots using RoboHelp's "Shed" functionality, so that when the user clicks on a field, its description is displayed on the screen as a popup. I tried searching Peter Grainge's site to see if there was any information about how to get them into the printed documentation, but unfortunately our firewall is blocking the scripts that are being run on his site. I am using RoboHelp Office X5 ver 5.0.1, MS Office 2000 SP 3 and the primary layout is in Winhelp 2000. Any help that can be provided would be appreciated. Thanks Bryan
