Is there a way to set up a "survey" (I am not sure what it is exactly called, so) to see how useful help topics are? For example, there are sites like amazon.com and possibly here too(not sure) that the reader can “vote” on a topic and its useful or helpful-ness. I would like this function as a beginner roboHelp developer at work. I want to say something like “was this helpful to you?” Yes No And it will tally up yeses and No’s.. or something like Rate this topic 1-5 stars… etc If there is a way to do this in HTML, let me know that as well as I can use that in my other job for their website. I mainly want to know if roboHelp had this kind of functionality Thanks; David

Hi. I am generating printed documentation of chapters in my help file that contain popups. When I check the printed documentation, it only contains the topics contained in the table of contents - none of the popups were included. The particular chapter that I am printing, contains images of forms. I have defined each of the fields in the image as hotspots using RoboHelp's "Shed" functionality, so that when the user clicks on a field, its description is displayed on the screen as a popup. I tried searching Peter Grainge's site to see if there was any information about how to get them into the printed documentation, but unfortunately our firewall is blocking the scripts that are being run on his site. I am using RoboHelp Office X5 ver 5.0.1, MS Office 2000 SP 3 and the primary layout is in Winhelp 2000. Any help that can be provided would be appreciated. Thanks Bryan

Hello! We have an in-house application that currently has an online Help module, but our Customer Support staff cannot stand the web-based Rich Text editor that we selected. Their content loses formatting when copy/pasting from -- say, MS Word into the RT Editor. Does RoboHelp have an RT editor that can be integrated into an existing system like the many HTML/JS RT editors out there? Tx! /al

Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm working on a project that someone else started. I have a main movie called "interface" with navigation off to the bottom right. When one of the nav items is clicked on (for example, "contact"), the contact.swf movie is then loaded on the left side of the site (via an empty movie clip called "holder"). Right now there's some fairly complicated actionscript that does this and I've just created a form page that I now need to perform a similar function without all of that actionscript. Basically on the contact page (contact.swf) there's an Email Us movie clip that performs as a button, I'd like for that contact us page to change from contact.swf to contact_form.swf when clicked. In other words I'd like the empty movie clip "holder" to play contact_form.swf instead of contact.swf. Can someone help me with the correct syntax? I was thinking it was holder.loadmovie, etc. but shouldn't there be some on(release) function as well? I'm confused, plea

I have no idea what happened, but now I can't double-click to open topics. I can right-click and select Open with WYSIWYG. The only thing I can figure out, is an automatic Windows update occured, then I couldn't open topics by double-clicking. Please help, this is such a drag!

I'm dynamically generating a list of items (say, vegetables), each with a numeric ID, and each with a checkbox. The user selects the vegetables he wants, and clicks the submit button. From the selected vegetable ID's, I want to do an insert into another table (say, customer orders.) I can't find any clear examples of how to do this. The form can submit to another .cfm page or self-submit, doesn't matter to me. Also, Flash forms are not allowed on my site. Help, please! Thanks.

Hi all I am having difficulties with an app that i downloaded from asfusion.com. The apps url is http://www.asfusion.com/apps/realestate/ Basically once i have downloaded the zip and unpacked it etc... i am getting an error. Attribute validation error for tag CFFORMITEM. The value of the attribute TYPE, which is currently "script", must be one of the values: HRULE,HTML,TEXT,VRULE,SPACER. They have set the cfformitem type ="script" which as far as i know is an invalid type. Can someone please assist me here, if i try other types, it falls over. Where does the type="script" come from. The zip file can be downloaded from the site. Thanks again Papps

Hello, I'm using XSL to format a large XML set I get from a webservice. So far it's been working great but I need to format the date so that is looks something like this: Sunday 05/21/2006 8:00 PM rather than this: 2006-05-21T20:00:00.0000000-04:00 I know you can format dates in the XSL but I have no idea how and all the info I can find on the net is for XSL savvy people. Which I am not. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here's what I have as an xsl. Note that eventDate is the param I need to format.

Hi, After changing the maximum number of connections to 1, I can no longer enter the coldfusion administrator. He allows me to enter the password, and then continues, but after showing only the top frame on the left, the coldfusion service hangs. I use coldfusion mx 6.1 on windows 2003 server and IIS. Kind regards, Thomas

Hi, I'd be grateful if somebody could please help me out with this problem. I actually want to write the following using the IIF statement: <cfif temp gt 0> <cfset label = "Over"> <cfelseif temp lt 0> <cfset label = "Under"> <cfelse> <cfset label = "-"> </cfif> Note If I output the variable label using the cfif, cfelseif and cfelse, it gives me the correct output, i.e. either "-", Over, or Under. I tried the following to rewrite the above statement using the iif function: <cfset label = iif(temp eq 0,DE("-"),(iif(temp gt 0,DE("Over"),DE("Under"))))> Now, when temp eq 0, it works fine. However, when temp is lt 0, it throws me an error message saying variable Under is undefined. And when temp is gt 0, I get the same error message, but in this case it says variable Over is undefined. However, if I replace Over and Under by 1 or 0 (i.e. integers) it works perfect! Any idea how to get the output either Over or Under using the iif

Ive started writing the 'hitTest' code for the game, i wasnt sure how, since i hadnt' tried it before- but after a short tutorial it's simple enough. However, i am running into problems. Currently, my stage is set up with a ship, that fires bullets, at the top of the stage, i have a long movie clip that will act as a 'wall', when the bullets collide with the wall they should stop moving, and 'blow up'. I have my animations, and all the fun stuff down- but my hit test isnt working one bit! here is the code for the hit test- it runs in my main _root enterframe loop. thanks.

[ flash source file I created a movieclip MCA. there are 4 embedded movieclips within MCA. I hope the button " Next" to control the movieclip "slide2" within MCA to play. but I failed. it doesn't play. what's wrong ? by the way, the first frame within "slide2" is set to "stop". this is important for me. I need this. the code is as follow, ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// _root.btn_next.onRelease = function() { _root.mca.gotoAndStop(2);// movie "MCA" go to the 2nd frame to show "slide2" _root.mca.slide2.gotoAndPlay(2);//hope to control movice clip "slide2" within "MCA" to play }; could you help solve the issue ? thanks

Hi, Some of my movies have what I consider "gratuitous" tooltips. The problem is mostly in Windows when I record opening files. The file properties pop us and just get in the way of what I'm trying to demo. Is there any way to not record them or turn them off? Thanks! Trudie

Hi. All code is from the 1st frame of the main timeline. In my .swf I attached several instances of a MC to the main timeline: for (k = 1; k <= nTotalMCs ; k++) { attachMovie("id1", "mc"+k, _root.getNextHighestDepth(), this["o"+k]); trace (this["mc"+k]); //returns _level0.mc1, _level0.mc2,..., _level0.mc3 } I have a programatic tween and I have added listeners to handle events related to it. This is one of them: oListener01.onMotionChanged = function():Void { for (j=1; j<=nTotalMCs; j++) { trace (["mc"+j]); //returns mc1, mc2,..., mcN trace (this["mc"+j]); //returns undefined trace (this._parent["mc"+j]); //returns undefined trace (_root["mc"+j]); //returns _level0.mc1, _level0.mc2,..., _level0.mcN } }; I need to access those MCs from the listner, but I can't use _root because the .swf this is in is going to be loaded by other .swfs, so I need to use relative paths. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong and how to get the correct relative path? Thank you in advanc

Hi all I finally got the Ref Cursor stored procedure working but am stuck on the following. I have this package body: CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY PACK_MYCURSOR AS PROCEDURE REFCUR ( theuserid IN OUT users.user_id%type, userfirstname OUT users_TableRows) IS BEGIN OPEN userfirstname FOR select * from users where user_id = theuserid ; END REFCUR ; END PACK_MYCURSOR ; / Now this is working fine, but I would need to have explisit fields in the select statement, like "select user_id from users", but when I do this then I get error messages of "expression is of wrong type". Anybody know how to solve this? Thank you.

I have the query "almost" there but I'm not sure exactly how to accomplish this. I need all recrods meeting the criteria from the AppliedLicense query. However not all records will have a match in the ApprovedLicense query. In the MergedData query I hope to get the Exp_Date column filled with the data from ApprovedLicense when there is a match but NULL if there is not a match. The code below, of course, only returns the records where there is a match in both data sources but I have no idea how to proceede. Thanks for any help.

I'm new on a Webhelp project, coming from a RoboHelp for Word background. I updated our help (stored on a shared drive) and generated Webhelp, but now the help is no longer on the drive and I cannot display the help. Is this possibly a permissions problem? I notice that the folder is set to Read Only. Thanks, Dan Gill

I have the code below. When I watch the process in the Debug window, I realize that the "traiterXML" function is done after all the code is processed. I think i don't grasp the way codes are treated. Is there an event i should call, or watch, making it sure the code after the ".load" call is run after the XML treatment has been done?

This is probably a very simple question, but I'm just wondering how to output the items on a page as they're processed, instead of having to wait for the processing for the entire page to be done before displaying anything. Does this make sense? Thanks!

Hello, All. I guess I'm just missing something silly, but I have a weird situation where after I've loaded my XML data and looked at the attributes (w/ trace in the loading function), immediately after "successfully" loading the data, it becomes undefined. Anything obvious that I should check for? This is probably the 10th project of this type that I've done, but it's been a version or so since I've messed with Flash & XML. TIA for any help... Ciao, -Jei.

i am very new to CF. can anyone explain to me what this <cfif IsDate(FORM.theTestValue)> vs <cfif Isnot Date(FORM.theTestValue)> means: and what it is used for? how is it beneficial?

This maybe very easy for all you experts out there but I am trying to update a Form Field with data that is in another Form Field when they exit the first Form Field. Basically trying to create a 'Billing' and a 'Shipping' form which i would like update automatically. Any help would be extremly greatful. Thanks Steve
